It's the second time we stayed here and really wouldn't go out of my way to do so again. The 'welcome' on arrival was non-existent. No smile evident, in fact we didn't encounter one of these rare things from the reception staff during our whole stay. I worked as a receptionist in a busy London hotel for years, so I know how important it is to make guests feel that they are welcome - and that they matter. Whilst the room was nice and comfy, there are other hotels in the area which are just as good, with welcoming and friendly staff. On check-in, the female receptionist made us feel like fugitives who would walk out of the hotel at any minute without paying, so insisted on quoting 'hotel policy' at us like we were children in a classroom. I explained that we had only just arrived and needed to sort out money exchange etc. but this wouldn't wash with her - even though I had booked and guaranteed the room with my card. I eventually scraped together what cash we had for the first night. What about the second night she insisted - I had enough already! Breakfast nothing to boast about - just about average. Nothing but nothing would make me stay here again - I really don't like where it's situated and the reception staff could do with a lesson in how to greet customers. They seem to be choosy about who they are civil to.
