Good location good room good service good breakfast.
If you need city center accommodation for events this is an excellent choice.
Parking in NCP car park is next to hotel and you get your ticked validated for half price fees.
£149 for two nights in a twin room £22 for two nights parking.
Enough said .

Dear Steve B,

Thank you for your kind review. I am delighted that you found the location, service and food offerings to your liking. Being a City Centre property, we have limited parking available outside the Hotel (need to be pre-arranged/chargeable service), or alternatively, we are able to pass on a 50% discount to all guests from nearby NCP car parks. Also, the New Street Train station is only a couple of minutes walk, for those preferring to travel by train. We look forward to welcoming you back in future.

Kind Regards

I would recommend staying here if you need a central location. Room exceeded my expectations (823). Appeared to be very recently refurbed with a very comfortable bed, contemporary bathroom and large flat screen TV. Also loved the small granite top work station rather than standard desk. Breakfast was good value and great hot and cold choice. Check in and out very efficient. Remember to get your car park ticket scanned to get half price at NCP next door to hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel twice when going to the Hippodrome Theatre.
The rooms are spacious with lovely, comfortable large beds. they include seating area with work desk and free wifi. We rang ahead and were able to park on site, but there are very limited spaces, so booking is essential. Other parking fairly close by.

Room Tip: We asked for rooms with large double bed.

Positives:The location is good. The room service was ok and the staff are friendly.

Negatives: The old feel of the hotel and room - seemed quite dated and could do with a deep clean of curtains and floors. Top of the headboard had a thick layer of dust as did the lampshades by the beds. There were also water marks on the tiles by the sink and the bathroom door. The floor was dusty too and it could have done with a good mopping over. Room Service was not easy to get hold of and I had to go down to speak to Reception before getting through to them later than needed! The cost of Room Service at £3.50 per time trays of food were delivered (we ordered 3 meals in total) is too much. We also gave one of the servers a tip. You have to ask the waiter for a receipt or you have no clue what the charges are. The walls and ceilings are not well insulated from noise and we could here next door having a bath/showers. The frst thing we were greeted with as we entered our room on the 8th floor was someone rolling what sounded like a vacum cleaner or some kind of round object on the floor above; even though Reception had told me that there was nothing on the 9th floor! I personally think that some staff at this hotel are overly friendly and too loud in asking if we had been shopping (as we approached Reception to check out).

We chose to stay here after staying at Premier Inns in Birmingham it was close to the Glee Club where we had booked so after taking costs of taxis it was ideal. It looks a bit dated from the outside but once inside the room was great the interior was great the bar was great and the breakfast two for one worked out at £7.50p each and it was really lovely after a few drinks the night before! The staff were so friendly.. only gripe they advertise free wi fi and there was no information in the rooms about the access details only saw the info at reception when we checked out!!! will stay again ideal for the heart of "Brum" its ideal and prices very reasonable for a good hotel!!

Not to be confused with the similarly branded Express hotels which I avoid.
I have stayed in this hotel regularly for years and they consitently get it right. The staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean and spacious with a small workstation to prepare for the following day. The beds are comfy and generally the showers are powerful ( I say generally because I had a barely adequate shower on one of the upper floors some years ago - but there has been no re-occurrence recently),
The restaurant facilities are good, but unless it is late I tend to dine out.The self-service breakfast is good and varied, the self service now extends to coffee and tea but I don't see this as a problem. The location is very good a short walk from Birmingham New Street and the shops, no distance from the Mailbox restaurants bars and shops and right on the doorsteps of Chinatown. I prefer this location to Broad Street where some of the other big hotels are situated
Bad things - well there are none, it is a little bland, and it does get booked up solid if there is anything on in town, plainly too many people like it.
