“Very good, Inexpensive, Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Stayed for one night in a family room (2 adults, 2 children) for a visit next day to Cadbury World 9which by the way is a bit of a rip off).

On arrival were greeted by a charming receptionist - very efficient and friendly.

Room was fine - very clean, quiet and just about large enough for the 4 of us.

Bar area was clean, well-appointed and the staff were friendly and efficient. Even though there was a wedding on at the hotel we were served promptly.

My husband, two children and I spent a weekend in this hotel at a family wedding. The staff were fantastic the moment we entered the hotel, very helpful and friendly.
We stayed in a family room which was really spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also really spacious and clean. The only complaint we had was that the room was right next to a very busy road and there appears to be only single glazed windows, which made it a very poor buffer for noise.....
The wedding was fantastic, flawless timing and very relaxed.

We booked tickets for Cadbury World at the hotel reception on Sunday morning which meant we were able to bypass the massive queue when we got there (and at a discount!)

All in all it was a very relaxing weekend in a lovely hotel, at a fantastic wedding.

Room Tip: If you find or your children find it difficult to sleep, make sure to ask for a room away from the r...

I was charged with organising an evening function for a group of high profile volunteers & having researched south Birmingham & North Worcestershire, I chose The Westmead Hotel Hopwood. The Westmead came up trumps because of its fabulous menu, value for money & excellent location just off the M 42. Clearly they are tops at Weddings as no Saturdays in 2012 were available & we settled on a Friday in October.
The whole experience was a joy. Nothing was left to chance, organisers planning schedule, fabulous choice of menus- one local competitor quoted almost twice as much for similar options. Nothing was too much of a problem with Sam my representative from the Westmead. She coped with all the usual quirky requests from organisers like me, including very late cancellations & individual menu choices & made my life so much easier. Flexibility & customer service are clearly The Westmead key word. On the night I got many of the plaudits, whilst Sam had earned most of them.
On the night my confidence in my choice was rewarded by a fabulous occasion, that was enjoyed by all & we were dealing with a pretty discerning bunch.
Food-Fabulous. Service-Spectacular. Evening-Excellent.
Karen the Maitre d’ on the night never stopped smiling & fielded every curve with aplomb. She is my new best friend.
If you are considering organising any sort of event or celebration in the South Birmingham/North Warwickshire/ North Worcestershire area then I commend you to give Sam a ring. You won’t be disappointed.

Reception staff very friendly. Room & bathroom clean and modern. We arrived after 2145hrs expecting to find the kitchen closed but no, a very good bar menu was offered, cooked & presented well.

Real ale was served in the bar plus thge usual fizzy stuff.

Breakfast was fine and again served by friendly staff.

! would deinately stay there again.

I had the pleasure of attending a Wedding on Saturday at this hotel and stayed over for 1 night. The hotel was clean, welcoming and the staff were impeccable. The Wedding was very well organised and all went smoothly.

The rooms were extremely spacious and have everything you need for a most comfortable stay. ALL of the staff are a credit to the hotel and were courteous, efficient and very friendly. 10/10

We stayed at the Westmead as we were attending a party in one of the function rooms. Check in was a most pleasant experience, the staff there could teach some of the reception staff in larger, more expensive hotels a thing or two!

Our room was large and clean with a huge bed, plasma tv, drinks tray, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a safe. The bathroom was a good size with a great shower.

We spent some time in the bar in the afternoon and had lunch which was really good, both in terms of quality and value for money. Drinks are less pricey than larger chain hotels but still more expensive than most pubs.

Breakfast is very disappointing; the fruit offering is sparse with mostly tinned fruit on offer and there was a large queue waiting for hot food (though when our party got their breakfast they did say it was good) but they do offer waitress service for hot drinks and toast.

On balance this is a good hotel, the welcome is fabulous and I can see why it does so well for large functions and weddings. With just 55 rooms, it's a great size for a large party to take over with everything on site.

Stopped here whilst walking the Worcester & Birmingham canal towpath. This place would be perfect except for one surly staff member at the bar who needs training in customer service; but even they didn't detract from a great stay.
Reception staff were courteous and very helpful; room was immaculate and the bed AMAZING! It was huge and very comfortable. Food was very good for dinner and breakfast (but beware cost of breakfast if not included in your tariff) and drinks not extortionate. Dinner was excellent and waiting staff kind and skilled.
Cannot comment about noise as there was no wedding during our stay, but it was comfortable and quiet for us.
Nearly perfect and well worth staying here
