“Basic and noisy area - but a good location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

I stayed here with a friend in December for a spot of Christmas shopping. The location in Chinatown is a short walk to the bullring and main shopping areas and perfect for good Chinese restaurants nearby. Our room backed on to a busy nightlife area down below, so I recommend ear plugs especially if you are visiting over the weekend like we were! The noise did carry on until 3am with loud thudding music. Rooms are small and basic, but we weren’t there to spend time in the rooms so it was fine for us – I wouldn’t stay here for a longer trip or a holiday though.

Many thanks for letting us know your thoughts, and rest assured we are working with the local council to try and reduce the noise pollution which is generated of external night life. Contact me at any time by email me on h1459-dm@accor.com if you’d like to discuss things further. With kind regards,

Unlike many 4 and 5 star hotels old style service is very much in evidence at the hotel including friendly staff and a night bar service for residents. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Bull Ring, the main railway station and close to an outstanding selection of restaurants. Rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable and exceptional value

Room Tip: Request a room with a double bed

Excellent value hotel in advance (£35 a room!) and in a great central location for a night out in Birmingham. Do not book on a weekend unless you are there to party - directly behind the hotel is the Arcadian centre, filled with bars and clubs. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. I would stay there again.

We booked for a Friday night stay in birmingham but with the snow forcast we had to cancel our trip. We phoned to cancel but were told we were unable to as it was a "winter special purchase"..........so what! We were unable to travel from Ashford Kent on the day due to the snowfall and couldn't get a refund nor refer our night to a later date so not impressed and will look to other hotels in future.

Good value hotel which is in a great central location. Room basic and clean. The bed was lovely and we had a great nights sleep. Hotel was quiet but I think this was down to the bad weather. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel. Reception staff were efficient and friendly when checking in. Avoid breakfast. Not worth the money. None of the juice machines working, toast burnt or not toasted in machine and my pet hate is seeing staff helping themselves to breakfast whilst customers are eating. Cleaning staff took priority in the lift as well with their trolly. Not the best customer service?
