“Location is its only redeeming quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Finding this hotel was very difficult - closed roads and directions from the hotel specifying a carpark to use, it turns out the name of the carpark had changed but the instrcutions hadn't been updated. The rooms smelt musty, bathroom was not clean, hot water pressure was very variable. A massive building site over the road ment it was very loud all night. The ceiling tiles were falling down in part of the room and the cups provided had chips in. Tierd rooms/ Beds were generally uncomfertable. Would not advise staying here, even though it was cheap.

After booking last minute as a cheap hotel near to the station and near to the NIA this seemed brilliant.
However looks are decieving. We were booked into a double non smoking room. Upon entering we were hit by the stale smell of smoke. The toilet was more like a portaloo than a bathroom!!
After a night at the NIA we retired at 12am, to be woken at 1.30am by over night workers. By 2.30am they were grinding metal, banging metal, shouting, drilling... After speaking to the receptionist who could offer no answer we left birmingham at 3.30 am to drive the 50miles home!!
As of yet been offered no compensation, waste of money. Would never use them again!! Close to the station but not worth the hassel!

Hotel is really handy for New Street train station and the Bullring shopping centre. Also walking distance to Arcadian district where there are lots of pubs and restaurents.
Unfortunately there was a lot of building work going on right across the road and was even noisy on the Sunday morning which doesnt help a hangover.
Hotel staff were extrememy helpful & friendly and the bar area was nice.
Room was big enough although we had a crappy wee tv and the remote didn't work.
Bed was REALLY comfortable and the bathroom was clean & tidy with shower being ok too.
All in all if your just looking for a getaway for a night or two its perfect.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back cause the building works might be going on for a while.

Great location ! Retro TV ! Window doesn't lock ! Musty aroma ! Shower wouldnt quench the thirst of a gerbil. The reception staff were most helpful and seem to expect criticism for the hotel. £20 for 5 days Wi-Fi is a proper fackin liberty.

I stayed at the comfort inn at the beginning of October for two nights. I had a top floor single room which was cosy and had a large bathroom. It was clean, tidy and easily accessible to the train station as I needed to be at the NEC very early in the morning, so therefore could not stay for breakfast. The staff on the desk were friendly but not so helpful - I complained that my shower was barely lukewarm and could they check it but he said that it should be fine (it wasnt!) That is my only complaint but I would stay there again for ease of access and comfort of the room.

Room Tip: I think the bathrooms are bigger upstairs. There is a great little shop a minutes walk away that'...

The Comfort Inn's location is excellent! Very convenience to the train station, 2 mins to "Bull-Ring shopping area, many restaurants around....... The room i stayed is very spacious, clean, quiet and comfort. Bath room is large, the only problem is only the shower which is not working very well, also hotel staff is friendly. Overall comment, in this price with such facilities and room space, I can say it's super value!

Room Tip: Higher floors have bigger rooms.

This hotel is in a very convenient location right next to New Street Station, but it's not simple to get to. It's not the hotel's fault that to get to it from the station is a but of a maze.
My room was very small, very noisy and the bathroom, well" It was aplastci pod that had been inserted in some way into one side of the room.
To sit on the loo you had to slide your knees under the sink, the benefit was that you could then prop any reading matrial on the said sink. the shower was within touching distance on the other side of the sink.
It wasn't the hotel's fault that a very large, noisy and slow moving metal sliding door right outside my window (room 10) was accessed about every hour throughout the night.
However it was the hotel's fault when it took about 10 minutes for anyone to notice I'd arrived foe breakfast.
When my poached eggs arrived I didn't expect that the chef (or the waiter?) had thoughtfully split the eggs so that by the time they arrived at my table the yolks were all over the plate.
Best thing about the whole experience was the Shangrila Chinese just along the street - excellent!

Room Tip: Go to another hotel
