“Bit tired needs a revamp”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Ok train was delayed, very small station staff friendly. Tickets tend t be cheaper from this station as it is not New Street and a smaller station.

“Station from another era”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Birmingham Moor Street is a Grade II listed building and it is like arriving into another era, everything from signage to the general decoration has been restored back to 1930’s style, the only aspect of the present day are the trains that arrive and depart.

Trains currently run from Moor Street to London Marylebone after quite a checkered history as it escaped being closed completely, a good thing it wasn’t.

“Well it's on track”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

As railway stations go I suppose that this station is authentic, in terms of yesteryear. Visitors to Birmingham can board a train here for Stratford upon Avon - Shakespear's birthplace. That's as far as the line goes these days though. Nevertheless, Stratford is a lovely place to visit and the journey from 'Brum' is only 1 hour. Please be aware that most catering businesses in Stratford will go out of their way to rip you off because you are a foreigner. For instance: Fish and Chips (the fish should be COD) should be no more than £4.50 but these people will charge you £15. A pint of lager should be no more than £2.90 but on realising that you are a foreigner you'll most likely be charged £6.00.
