“Outstanding even better than the film!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Went to the Birmingham Hippodrome last night to see The Lion King and wasn’t disappointed. Everything from the stage, the set and actors were superb and also most of the staff at the venue were polite and courteous. I would highly recommend going to see this production it’s every bit as good as both the West End and Broadway production I saw a few years ago, perhaps even better!
On the down side given that ticket prices are already quite expensive I think the drinks/ice cream prices are far too steep, and it slightly feels you’re being ripped-off as a ‘captive audience’. So come on Hippodrome remember money is tight these days and don’t ruin your excellent reputation by not giving value for money on drinks etc.

“Great Show / Venue”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

You will not be disppointed, i had a great time, booked tickets for The Lion King on line, on the day the saff member were great, honest and reliable, show was great will recommend this to every one no matter how old you are, faciltys are great.

Draw backs,
Food over prices, a small tub of ice cream £4.50, take your own snacks.

at first i went to get the tickets from the box office as i live in Birmingham, was told that there are no more tickets left only the VIP tickets which cost £119 each, was a little dipointed, i went on-line and found some very good tickets, not happy with this,

Over all i loved the show,

First time in Hippodrome

“Never had a bad show ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

This is the west end of Birmingham, first class theatre with first class shows. The most recent is the Lion King, that ranks in my top 10 of all shows and I have seen plenty.

The atmosphere and sound is great and the place is always full of smiles of content people.

Some great eateries around, too, easy to find and by far the best theatre in Birmingham.
