Me and my wife choose to stay at this hotel for 2 nights for a conference. The price we paid was very £45 per night so after reading some decent reviews we were comfortable to book there.
We arrived 25 mins early than check in time and were refused to check in saying the rooms need to be inspected by the manager before any guest are allowed to check in.
Upon arrival there were no staff present at the reception nor there was a bell there to draw staff attention. After waiting around a lady turned up. She seemed very unprofessional and not welcoming at all! I couldn't even see a single smile on her face but rather she seemed displeased that we arrived early after we explained we were travelling from London.
We went away for lunch and came back at 3pm. Again there reception was empty. We waited for 10mins and then started knocking on the counter desk for attention along with saying "excuse me, anybody there". We did this for along while then as I decided to go around the counter and knock on the door a lady then came out all flustered, as though she was caught off guard, but only to realise she was listen to her iPod nano. What was worse she came out with it in her hand, but failed to apologise for keeping us waiting for this long neither did get a smile from this lady and her name was Kurtis.
We were given one key to our room despite being seeing there's two of us. As we were approaching our room, the corridor infront of our room door was a complete utter mess! There was shredded paper and rubbish everywhere. Our corridor was finally hoovered at 5pm.
First impression of our room was spacious, clean, tidy and but not very cosy. It seemed very empty.. The room had a double bed, sofa, a chair, tv, kettle and en suite shower. The en suite was lovely, however the hotel failed to provide soap and shower caps. Although the bathroom was very clean looking, there was mould growing in the side of the shower.
We had a late night, so we slept very late into the following morning. While we were sleeping at 10am, a lady named Amanda who seemed to me is the so called manager who checks the rooms knocked on the door and walked literally straight even before we could say anything!!! Luckily the door was locked which prevented Amanda from entering. As soon as Amanda tried walked I jumped out of bed, from sleep and put clothes on. I went and opened the door and she seemed puzzled that someone was in the room. I had explained that she had no right to knock on the door and attempt to walk straight through but her excuse was she was here to inspect if the room requires cleaning. However I had explained to her the was no door hanging that it needed cleaning. She did not apologise not once but rather tried to argue the case. That really angered me but I didn't say anything but rather just shut the door in her face.
I have travelled to over 34 counties and have stayed across many hotels. This has been by far the worse hotel I have stayed in!

From the information that you have given, I have investigated as best I can as it is very unusual to recieve an adverse comment regarding Kurtis. In fact a guest has telephoned me to commend her recently. Our background music is run from a nano and is within a small room behind Reception - this is what she had in her hand at the time.
The brand specification offers environmentally friendly pump dispensers for soap and body wash. Shower caps are available free of charge from Reception.
I very much regret that you have gone away with a less than favourable impression of us.
