“Unable to book a room”

I cannot tell you what it was like to stay at the Warwick Arms Hotel as we have yet to be acknowledged by the receptionist, who was fiddling around on the computer making a poster (Thursday 3rd September at around 6pm) if the manager is interested. It was not even a complicated poster and the person she was doing it for pointed out that we were waiting and she did not even turn round.
They must be doing well though to be able to ignore both customers and the income it would have generated.
We did intend to stay the night but and were also looking to find a venue for a large birthday party. So a double whammy for the Warwick Arms. Compare this to the staff at the Tudor House Inn a few hundred yards down the road, who were welcoming and friendly. No prizes for guessing that this is where we stayed there the night.

Myself and my partner visited for a weekend break and couldn't have been more impressed. Comfy bed, clean and modern, beautiful bathroom and a flat screen TV. A good start! We went for a look around and discovered the beautiful bar and restaurant, I had visited this hotel many (many) years before and the recently updated decor gives it a real 'chic boutique hotel' vibe without loosing the class and charm of the period building. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the local attractions. Our view was over the courtyard which was full of potted flowers and in the morning it even had a couple of peacocks wandering in from the castle which is literally just behind the hotel. My boyfriend took the credit for this romantic touch but I think they are resident at the castle! We had a wonderful stay and are booked to return in the new year with friends!

the car park is very small, & parking around Warwick is very expensive. We were lucky we got a parking space but only after a member of staff came out and moved his car? Not a great start to the two nights we stayed.

The room (42) was a good size, however I felt that £99 per night was a little on the excessive side for a room with a fold out bed. I got the impression that the room is used for other purposes because of the bed.

The room was equipped with Venetian Blinds and the light leakage from them was on the high side. Being on the ground level we could not leave the windows open for fresh air as it would have left the room vulnerable to break in, so the room was a little stuffy when we returned to the room after a day out.

We had a lovely view of the car park and we had to listen to people moving their cars and talking in loud voices until quite late, especially on the Saturday Night when there was a wedding at the Hotel.

However these are minor points and the overall stay was excellent, the staff were well trained, polite and helpful. The hotel being in the centre of Warwick is ideal as a sight seeing base.

I stayed here recently as my sister had got married nearby. The hotel was very nice considering the rate we had paid. Breakfast was pretty good and the service was excellent too. My only criticism would be that the car park is pretty small and parking in warwick is not easy.

Better than I thought it would be. Like a 4.5 star hotel in the middle of a small town. Large room, 32 inch LCD TV with freeview, large bathroom, brand new renovated rooms. Service was flawless, good breakfast with a good choice. Right in the centre of town between the Lord Leycester Hospital and Warwick castle. Restaurant looked good (they do room service) but we ate down the hill toward the station/castle direction at The Cellar which was outstanding. Hotel highly recommended. If only there were more hotels like this in UK towns.

The hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful - even from booking (asked if it was for a special occasion - it was our wedding anniversary and we were given the bridal suite at a reduced cost!). The hotel is very modern, clean and bright and the bed was extremely comfortable. It has a fantastic location right in the middle of Warwick - good for the town and the castle. Its a little hard to find the car park (which only has room for about 5-6 cars) as you get caught up in the 1 way system and its not signposted until you are on top of it - its in Back Lane off Castle Lane.
There was a function on the night we stayed, but we didn't hear a thing (the only annoying thing was that they had reserved ALL the seating in the bar for the function, so we had a rushed drink in the bar when we would have liked to stay longer).
The only downside was the food - in the evening is quite limited and has some strange combinations (avoid the battered black pudding with Stilton), however the burger is lovely and more than enough. Breakfast was also disappointing, if you wanted a cooked breakfast - I hope you like eggs.
Would I stay here again? - Definately, I would just eat elsewhere - theres a great cafe called the Tuckery which does a full english for £3.99! and plenty of other restaurants in the town.

Booked in advance through booking .com for one night. The day we were due to go to Warwickthere there were snow blizzards according to the B.B.C. they were the worst for eighteen years. It was impossible to travel in those conditions. We telephoned the hotel saying that we couldnot come but we could come the following night . We were told in no uncertain fashion that that was too bad and that they would not accommodate us inany wayso if we came they wouldcharge us both for the night we had booked and our alternative making the one night stay cost double.

We then telephoned booking .com. who were sympathetic but refused to mediate.

Quite frankly after this experience I would be wary of booking .com and would advise that readers avoid this rude and unhelpful hotel.
