The Old Rectory is a charming Bed and Breakfast. We had a lovely stay. We literally slept and then ate breakfast and left but the time we spent there was enjoyable. We had the Charlotte suite which had a double bed, a single bed and room for our travel cot. In the room there was also tea and coffee, TV, wifi, extra blankets and books to read. The room was clean and lovely and warm. Anne introduced herself when we arrived and could not be more welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was one of the best we have ever had. The quality was far better than you get anywhere else. You can help yourself to toast and cereal while Anne cooks your full English. We didn't have time to enjoy the grounds nor was the weather any good but outside there is great space to enjoy and a play area for children. Should we return to Warwick in the future, we will certainly spend the night at The Old Rectory.

We had a lovely stay here. Owner was very welcoming and helpful. We ordered our breakfast when we arrived, there was a good choice. The room was lovely, bed was very comfy. TV, tea and coffee facilities, we ran out and got more no problem. Despite being near a main road we didn't hear a thing. Close to Stratford and was lovely. We couldn't fault our stay and would definitely stay there again.

When we arrived we were eventually greeted (in the broadest sense of the word) by the daughter, no introduction, no polite conversation, just silence unless we directly asked her a question, she only spoke voluntarily to ask us to fill in forms and when we commented on something smelling nice we were abruptly told they had eaten it all (don't panic we weren't looking for a free meal!) Room was nice if a little tired and no decaf in the complimentary beverages and only 3 UHT milk ( i would use that in one cup and there were 2 of us) What do people have against powdered milk. However, we met the owner in the morning and she was an absolute delight, great cooked breakfast, loads of choice and a wonderful lady serving it all. She salvaged the stay and set us up for a fab day out. Can't thank you enough.

This sounded an amazing place and the photos of it looked fabulous, situated in the countryside with such a history of it's own. Unfortunately it was tired, dusty, with crumbs all over the floor in my room. To top it all the breakfast (cooked English) was cold and not as I'd asked.

Not worth £90 I paid...have stayed in far better for less!

We have stayed at The Old Rectory before and were very impressed. However, our stay this time was disappointing. On arrival the owner / staff ? did not introduce themselves, so we had no idea who we were speaking to. We were shown to our room, which had no soap in the bathroom, one pillow each, although the tea and coffee making facilities were good. There were cobwebs and it was obvious the floor had not been vacumed.
Breakfast the following morning was inefficient, we had not been asked when we booked in if either was vegetarian - I am, at breakfast we were asked how we wanted our eggs, she seemed floored when I said no English, poached egg on toast, when the order came, my breakfast was a poached egg mushrooms, tomatoes and BACON ! when I said I did not eat meat she took my plate away, it came back, same plate with the bacon removed ! Several other guests had their orders mixed up being given baked beans when they had said no beans. All it would take is an order pad to get this right.

Room Tip: All rooms are well located

The old owners have sold on and the new owners have a lot to live up to.
Our room, Stable Block 7, was extremely cold over the Easter weekend. Central heating was not on, just an electric heater provided, which when plugged in, was quite inadequate.
While the bathroom has been updated, with the provision of a heated towel rail, this was not operable as it is not independently operated by electric, but seems to be connected to the central heating which was most definitely not in use.
The bathroom was extremely cold and damp, we had no way of drying or airing the towels.
Beware, the bathroom floor, while pleasant to look at, is stone tiled and very cold.
Having said all this, our stay was ok and the breakfast was great, (full English), a choice of eggs every morning and a good selection of cereals, yogurt and fruit.
Toast the bread to your liking and top it with another good selection of jams or good old marmalade.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite the pitfalls.
At £80 per night, per room, this does come out as rather expensive for what you get.
However, the Easter Bunny did visit on Easter Sunday!
Maybe we chose the wrong month to stay here, either that or the new owners do not feel the cold as much as I do.
By the way, you will get a friendly welcome when you arrive.
Just wish the room felt as warm!
One other point, the electric sockets are only situated by one side of the bed or behind the chest of drawers, so all you ladies who need mirrors and sockets etc for your beauty regime may find this room lacking for your requirements. While it didn't affect me, it may be a problem for others.
If you want a cup of tea or coffee in the morning or any time, you have to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in.
I do wish the new owners every success, and hope that the tree house will be a great hit with future (junior) guests.

Room Tip: On past experience, Stable block 6 and 7 are not a good option. (they both look good from the pictur...
