“well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

this small church in Warwick is well worth a visit. it has incredible history and some amazingly preserved decorative sarcogphagus/tombs. it cost £2.50 per person to go up to the top of the tower and the view is definitely worth it, but be warned the circular stone steps gets VERY narrow on the way up.... if you have any claustrophobia this might be difficult for you!

“Must visit if you can!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

We only popped in because we saw a sign outside about a Christmas Tree Festival-I am very glad we did! Free to get in, which nowadays is rare. Very friendly and helpful staff greeted us and were lovely with the young child in our group. We went and looked at all the Christmas trees decorated by local groups and businesses and got to choose a favourite and while doing so I discovered so much interesting history! The tombs in the Beauchamp chapel were fascinating, the stained glass windows beautiful and we all enjoyed a trip down into the crypt. All in all, so glad we went in as churches and children are not always a good mix. Sometimes you feel like you have to be quiet but the friendly welcome here meant we could have a proper look around without feeling the need to tiptoe. Just gutted now as I have read other reviews by people who went up the tower but I must have missed the door to that!!

“A national treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

No trip to Warwick is complete without a trip to this beautiful historic building. It is truly stunning inside and the Beauchamp Chapel, which is one of the finest medieval chapels in the country, is unique and stunning. Friendly staff will welcome you as you arrive, and there are usually very knowledgeable Guides ready to share the history of the building.
Views from the top of the tower, provided you are fit enough to climb, are breath taking.
The church has an internationally renowned choir so if you visit the town on a Sunday, you will be most welcome to share this glorious building and listen to the singing.

“History must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

One of the most interesting places in Warwick. Beautiful. Make sure you do your homework on the people who are buried there and you will see what an important place it is in British history. May not be the tombs of kings, but certainly of people who played a part.
If you can manage the stairs you will have the most fantastic view.
Do remember this is a working place of worship and may sometimes be unavailable for tourists. Do check if you are making a specific visit.

“Oh my! What a view, but you must be fit for stairs!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

We only had time for a short visit and decided to go up the tower - oh my goodness, I think the lady said there was 160 stairs - we forgot to count either up or down!
The view (when we eventually got there after much puffing and panting - no good with a tight chesty cough!) is amazing, and is much higher than the castle.
Very good value.
