Owner description: Charlecote Park has been home to the Lucy family since the 12th century. Their stories are told throughout the house by their portraits, the objects they collected from around the world and the design influence they had on the house and parkland. See how Mary Elizabeth Lucy remodeled the house in Victorian times. The gardens include a formal parterre, woodland walk and the wider parkland (inspired by 'Capability' Brown), which offer walks with picturesque views across the River Avon. A herd of fallow deer has been in the park since Tudor times.

“Fascinating house in lovely grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Despite the disruptions caused by the rewiring work the house is well worth a visit. It's small enough to enjoy the detail and has some quirky features that shine through. Don't miss the carriage collection tucked away in the old stable block or the extensive grounds - including the gardens behind the cafe. 4 miles from the M40 it's easily accessible en route to Stratford or Coventry.

“House a little dissappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Visited last week and as others have said, lots of furniture stored and covered up and lots of work going on in house at moment with only a limited number of rooms open so maybe best time to visit would be in the summer but apart from that lovely grounds, shops and outhouses to explore.

“Charlecote Park, Nr Wellesbourne, Warwick”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Lovely place to visit - we were there yesterday. Excellent talk given by guide on clothes worn by the lady of the house. Re-wiring in progress but we still enjoyed visit and hope to go again in the summer to see the grounds when it is warmer.

Lovely grounds.House looks very nice , unfortunately there was lots closed as electrical work in progress. The rest of Charlecote is excellent , good restaurant , gift shop, outbuildings, cariages , brew house all worth a visit.

“A hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Visited yesterday, was incredibly cold! Very beautiful building and grounds and although they are rewiring you still get to see and feel the grandeur of the place. Helpful NT staff and a fun fawn trail for children to look for.
Cafe, overpriced and seating inside was very tight. £7 for a sausage sandwich!. High chairs and baby change all as you would expect.
