“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and found the room clean, spacious and with a comfortable bed. We were not disturbed by any noise from the other guests.
The hotel was very full when we stayed and the staff struggled to keep the breakfast buffet well stocked. The staff did an excellent job even though many guests took more food than they could eat. The buffet was adequate just like any other Holiday Inn Express.
We would return to the hotel when in Warwick but not during such a busy period.

We stayed here for 3 nights over bank holiday weekend to visit warwick and stratford. Ideally located and pretty quiet considering the proximity of the M40.
Nothing special about this place...does what it says really. Rooms were small but comfortable, everything was clean and staff were friendly.
Breakfast on the first morning was great...second morning was a complete shambles but they learnt and the third morning was much better. Im surprised when big hotels like this struggle as they know numbers of people...especially when coach groups and lots of families stay. Felt sorry for the poor guy cleaning tables but he managed everything with a smile.
So overall not bad and I would stay again...assuming I could get the same rates on my next visit.

Needed to visit Warwick on business but also wanted to visit Stratford upon Avon during trip and this hotel was convenient for both. Have stayed in a few Holiday Inn hotels but never done an Express one before, would hope not to do one again either.

The hotel is not near any shops or anything without getting in your car, and if you want a couple of glasses of wine that's not an option for me. So, needed something to eat, nothing but frozen sandwiches available in the hotel itself but an on site pub looked promising. Unfortunately, because it was the only place available it was very full and we were told we would need to order and then wait an hour and a half for our food which was ridiculous. We ended up going over the road the the Hilton hotel and paying almost £60 for 2 glass of wine, 3 beers and 2 steak sandwiches !! but at least we had some comfy sofas and attentive waiters.

The one thing in a hotel that I expect to be good quality is the bed - it was just like trying to sleep on a board and the pillow were no better either so a very poor night's sleep and needing to be fresh in the morning for an important business meeting did not make me a happy bunny.

The breakfast was pretty poor too. All in all, not a good experience..

Room Tip: If you want a good nights sleep - dont go there!

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, and I am pleased you found our location to be convenient for your needs.
We do not have a restaurant on site as part of the brand standards of Holiday Inn Express, but we do have vending items available for our guests and also 12” stuffed crust pizzas available for purchase for all residents, as well as the team will gladly recommend local restaurants or takeaway options.

It is unfortunate that the separate Porridge Pot Pub were unable to meet your requirements. We will pass your comments to the Porridge Pot management, who value the opinion of the Holiday Inn Express Warwick guests.
Thank you again for your review and for the time you have taken to inform us of your experience. We value all feedback given as this enables us to continuously improve and provide the best service we can offer.
I sincerely hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future should your travel bring you back to Warwick again.

We had 3 days away to visit Stratford and Warwick castle and found this online. The location is brilliant even if it is by M40 you don't realise it as very quiet. We had family room with very comfortable sofa bed for our daughter. Very comfortable room with compact but workable shower / bathroom. Breakfast was good with 3 hot foods available and included in price but they ran out of baked beans on first morning!! Hotel is only 3 minutes drive from Warwick. Castle so brilliant with excellent separate restaurant and pub next door offering excellent food and value for money!
Would stay there again.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Stayed as a family of four for one night ahead of a visit to Warwick Castle.

Room was a bit cramped, but clean and comfortable, and with modern decor. Kids had a double sofa bed while we had a normal double. Room was air-conditioned which was a bonus as the hotel is only about 100yds from the M40 and therefore it would have been very noisy with windows open. We all slept very well.

Good value pub grub and lovely service at the adjoining Porridge Pot pub which is just a 30 second walk across the car park.

Perfectly decent buffet breakfast on offer in the hotel itself the next morning.

Warwick Castle car park is less than a 5 minute drive up the very same road the hotel is on. Really couldn't have asked for a better location.

Would stay again.

Location ...excellent, very close to Warwick, Staff very helpful, rooms very clean but on the small side but saying that we were only in there night times, the Porridge Pot next door is ideal for dinner as the express does not have dinner service, only one thing which bothered us was the very uncomfortable pillows but thats a minor issues...great place would use again.

I didn't pay a huge amount to stay here but I was surprised to find I had to pay for car parking! Then my car park ticket didn't work and when I queried it at reception I was advised I hadn't paid....what happened to the £3 cash I handed over I wonder!
Room was OK but only 1 chair in a twin room? Bed too soft for my liking. But it was clean.
I was surprised that no food was available in the evening, I was offered takeaway menus....not what I expect from a hotel.
Breakfast was basic and OK.
Bar prices - OUCH!! Worse than London, and £2.50 for a bag of winegums.......disgraceful!
The best feature was the location and it's proximity to the Castle.
Overall we made do for the night, but one night was enough.

Thank You for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

We have car park barriers to enhance our security for guest’s vehicles whilst staying with us, we do charge a flat fee of £3 per car per night for residents, the charge is in keeping with our area, hotels within Warwick and Stratford who have car parks do all have similar or some more expensive charges and some do not have any car parking facilities at all. We unfortunately had a technical with the car parking barrier over the weekend and were unable to register the tickets, which is unfortunately why your ticket was queried at the barrier. This is a rare occurrence and has now been rectified with our maintenance team.
We do not have a restaurant on site as part of our Holiday Inn Express, but we do have vending items available for our guests and also 12” stuffed crust pizzas available for purchase for all residents.
Thank you again for your review and for the time you have taken to inform us of your experience. I sincerely hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future should your travel bring you back to Warwick again.
