Popular with tourists and locals alike, Wildwood Kitchen is packed for business lunches during the day, and has a more chilled out vibe for afternoon coffees and evening meals. “Great Italian place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We had lunch here while in Stratford for a few days in mid-May 2013. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had the Bolognese and one of the Calzone specials, as well as the Bruschetta, all of which were great. We definitely recommend it as one of the more hidden places in Stratford.

“Still reeling, must be good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

Really pleased to have another great restaurant down Sheep Street! 12 of us went last night and a lovely large table in a relaxed room to ourselves and the atmosphere was really comfortable. The fish cakes for starters were enjoyed by many and my seafood linguine was one of the best I've ever had. Friendly service, great wine, very well priced... Will definitely be going back!

“Attentive service, and fresh, tasty food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We called in here on a Friday afternoon for an early dinner (just before 5pm). We were the first people in there but it soon started to get busier as some of the pre-show diners came in.

Service was polite and friendly, and the menu choices whilst not vast did provide enough variety. We opted for the ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as an appetiser (very soft and fresh), chili fishcakes for starter (had a lovely kick to them), then the baked chicken pasta and char-grilled chicken pizza for mains (both excellent - pizza dough very light, pasta very tasty).

Reasonable pricing too.

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

My wife and I dined here as part of a pre theatre meal at the RSC. We did look around Wetherspoons accross the road but decided against it. Glad we did, this place is a little gem hidden across the same street (sheep st). Very unasuming amongst all the other restaurants along the same street, I cannot believe this restaurant is only a #41 best in Stratford, we have eaten in other restauarnts in Stratfor before now and this place knocks spots off them, I shant mention them as it wouldnt be fair.
The service is friendly and speedy, great rappor with all guests and an all around friendly feel to the place. Menu is not extensive but adequete for a pop in meal, with some excellent dishes to choose from. A good wine list and of course not forgetting my wifes favourite end to a meal, a dessert.
The place is very clean, my wifes inspection of toilets is legendary and is usually a good pointer to the rest of the experience , she maintains.
We were not rushed or felt neglected and our whole experience was relaxed and contented after our meal, ready for our evening entertainment. Highly recommend this place but not too highly as we dont want it too busy for our next visit in August.

“Great food, great service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

Chose this restaurant after doing the Stratford ghost walk so it was lateish for us (8.30pm). There are lots of places to eat on Sheep Street and we chose this one because our daughter wanted pizza. A very happy, lucky choice!

Started with a shared dish of excellent calamari with a chilli mayonnaise so good we kept what was left to go with the fries that came with the steak main course. Rump steak was perfectly cooked with a simple watercress salad. Our other main of baked sea bass filet on fennel risotto was very very good. The kids pizza had lovely rustic pizza dough and everything was completely finished off; not a scrap left!

Nice mango sorbet for desert a great way to finish.

Friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive service and nice to have a restaurant happy to let us share starters and desert.

A great find and we would definitely go back.
