“Great value Sunday lunch on the river”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

My partner and I were concluding a weekend in Stratford Upon Avon and he booked for us to go out for lunch on the Sunday aboard the Countess of Evesham. From the moment we arrived and boarded, the staff welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. We set off and once moving we were offered drinks and asked for our choice from the menu. The food was very good, hot and tasty. A small choice of menu but that is to be expected on a boat. The trip along the river was very pleasant and having had a 3 course lunch, coffee and a 3 hr trip along the Avon it was money well spent.

“Something special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

My boyfriend booked us a romantic evening meal on the Countess of Evesham for my birthday during our stay in Stratford. We boarded the boat at 7pm and luckily for me having a birthday in December, the boat was decked out in christmas fairly lights and tinsel which looked fantastic. We were shown to our table by the pleasant waiter. The tables are all next to windows and all have great views. We were given a drinks menu to look at and the waiter took our drinks order. At 7.30pm we headed off on our river cruise. The boat trip lasted 3 hours and went through 3 locks, at the half way point you are able to get off for 15 minutes to stretch your legs if you want to.
Our food was amazing and being a fussy eater I was a little worried that I wouldn't like the choices but that wasn't a problem. We had the Christmas Menu and I had tomato & basil soup which was probably the best soup I have ever tasted followed by Roast Turkey with plenty of potatoes and vegetables followed by Apple & Cinammon Crumble....my boyfriend had mackeral pate followed by Salmon and vegetables followed by Xmas Pudding which he said was all fantastic. The food was served during the cruise allowing a nice length inbetween courses. The waiter was attentive and would come and ask if you wanted more drinks during the cruise.
This was something very unique and perfect for special celebrations - I am unsure of the cost as it was a present, but we both agreed it was a fantastic way to spend the evening and being near Christmas made it all the more special for me with the decorations and lights :)

“The boat ride is worth it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

Our dinner on the Countess was not remarkable, but the boat ride was definitely worth the time and money. It was not overly expensive, but not cheap either. Going thru the locks was really fun.

“Nice, peaceful, relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

A pleasant boat trip with food. We had a nice afternoon tea, [£14] and a 1 1/2 hour trip. They also do lunch and dinner trips. We shall return for a dinner trip [about £30] very soon. A nice way to relax away from the frenetic touristy centre of Stratford.

“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

after 3 days of private celebrations for our 2nd wedding anniversary, the absolute cherry on the cake was our meal on the luxury restaurant boat The Countess of Evesham at Stratford Upon Avon last night. Simple, stunning food, washed down by a bottle of very special champagne There was a great atmosphere and much merriment all while being taken gently down the River Avon.

The staff were all extremely friendly and very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, they'd even sprinkled red love hearts on our table .. it was those little things that made it all very special for us.

We would highly recommend it, and we can't wait to go again!!
