“great vfm family friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

I have just stayed at this hotel with my two children, and my friend also had a room with her daughter. Hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Great to have separate beds for the kids and still enough room to move around! Hotel is very well located for the town centre and all of the tourist attractions. My daughter left behind a necklace that was very special to her - when i returned 3 hours after checkout housekeeping had handed it in - it isn't everywhere you would get such honesty! Staff are a credit to this hotel.
Breakfast was very good value for money. Book a table though if you want to eat in restaurant at night - we couldnt get a table until 9pm - too late when you have children.
I would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel is 5 mins walk from town and parking is only a £1 a day good deal there. The staff were very friendly and as always the rooms comfy and clean, The breakfast although expensive as they are in all premiers was excellent.Thats where the compliments stop. I was told on 3 occasions that a room I had booked for friends following up was at the back of the hotel, the car park is very close to the front and therefore noisy, when they arrived they were placed at the front! The reason was the room was already alocated, no it was not prior to Saterday as we had the room next door and it was not occupied.Although I do not doubt that our experience of waiting for 2 hours for a meal that had to be returned is not a usual thing it must be said as nice as the staff were the chef needs to be retrined or have more help!
I have stayed in many Premiers and this was by far the least reliable and badly run.
As it was Valantines night it made the situation even worse people were leaving without eating despite having booked tables well in advance. If I had not been staying there I would have left to eat elsewhere, having said that we did get a huge discount when we eventually had our meals.
I will not be staying in this Premier again. Despite their advertising as a budget hotel they are far from it and on the whole quite expensive and as such I do not think this particular branch has got their client centered approach quite right.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back overlooking the canal, although they say it has been reserved there is no...

We booked into this premier inn by accident, believing it to be the hotel actually in town. Luckily this one was much better. The car park was just outside and cost one pound a day instead of fifteen pounds opposite the first hotel or ten pounds in a car park close by. This hotel is much nearer to the town centre than you might think, being just over a ten minute walk door to door to the theatre, which was the purpose of our stay. The meal deal was excellent value and good quality, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and pleasant with all you need for a comfortable stay. My only slight complaint was the fact that the air conditioning could not be turned down lower than 18 degrees, and the windows did not open, for me this made the room a little too warm for sleeping. However this is an issue I have come across in other hotel rooms and may not be of concern to others. I particularly liked the self check in system which was useful due to the queue at the reception desk. The bar attached to the hotel is a good place for a drink before your meal. I would recommend this premier inn for its easy access to town on foot, as well as being quiet and comfortable.

I stayed at the hotel for the second time in six months on visits to the RSC theatre. The hotel is very clean and the staff are really welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious and spotless and the bathrooms modern and functional. The meal deal is recommended and the breakfast fabulous. The hotel is a short walk to the sights and town centre and it takes about five minutes stroll to William Shakespeare's birthplace. The beds are comfortable and the free thirty minutes wifi is handy for checking emails etc.... The car park costs £1 a night! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for value and first class service.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the canal.

The hotel is brand new and has a good feel. It's less than 10mins walk to the centre. Parking is £1 per day but the spaces further back behind the hotel are a bit secluded. Breakfast is as all other preminn's. The restaurant is quite nice but leaves the bar area a bit cramped. Staff are friendly and very helpful. There's a retail park about 5 mins walk in the oppisite direct to the centre. There you'll find M&S food, Clarkes, Next, SportsDirect, Greggs, SubWay and Fish & Chips.

Saw this hotel last year on a short trip to Stratford when it wasn't finished.
Location was brilliant.Along the side of the canal for a nice walk yet not so far from the town centre that you couldn't walk to it.
One year on we booked in.
As you would expect from a new hotel it was spot on.Everything clean, new and still shiny.Usual quality room from Premier Inns, spacious, well equipped and all the things you need for a short stay.Even the hairdryer got a thumbs up from the wife as it was the type you switch on and it stays on not the one where you have to hold down the button to keep it on.(Important point gentlemen!)
Breakfast was top notch from the on site restaurant which did get a bit crowded when full but the super buffet breakfast more than made up for it.
Staff were all very friendly and went the extra mile to make sure everything was up to guests requirements.
Location is ideal with parking just £1 for 24 hours for those who like to park and walk .Bargain of the year so far! Wish other hotels would take note and follow this example.
It is a fairly flat walk to the town which may not suit everyone but a nice walk for those that do especially after an Italian meal.
With a retail park the other way, there is enough retail therapy to keep the most avid shopper happy for a few hours.
Overall a great stay for short break and definite value for money!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back face the canal, great views.Rooms on the higher floors offer better views but then...

Booked one night here at the bargain price if £19. Located slightly out of town but not too far to walk. I phoned before arrival and asked for a room overlooking the canal, request granted! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Room immaculately clean as are all the premier inns I've stayed at throughout the uk. Drinks in the bar were far cheaper than down in the town, very impressed! All you can eat breakfast for £8.50 was superb value for the normal bacon sausage and eggs etc, cereal, breads, muffins, yoghurt and fruits! Only criticism was that the mattress was very hard, woke at 5am and had trouble getting back to sleep, I've never had mattress problems at the other premier Inns I've stayed at, wouldn't stop me from returning tho!
