“Quite some view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

We were looking for a comfortable, quality B&B with nearby pub not far from the M40 that we could stay in on route south. Shakespeare's View fitted the bill wonderfully. Easy to get to & find, the house is on a quiet road just 15 minutes walk from the village of Snitterfield. We had a very warm welcome from the owner, quickly followed by tea and homemade cakes in the large back room overlooking the garden, orchards and distant countryside.

Guests have their own entrance and off-road parking, but those less sure of foot should be careful on the rather uneven steps and pathway.

Our room was a very comfortable and nicely decorated double, again with a lovely view. The other (ensuite) room appears to face the other way. The description on Laterooms hadn't indicated that the (large and well equipped) bathroom wasn't ensuite, but it wasn't really a problem, although some guests might find the trip across the landing past the neighbouring bedroom door a bit daunting. The owner has thoughtfully provided gowns to spare any blushes!

We had a pleasant meal at the pub, which has been recently refurbished with more of a wine bar feel than village local.

Breakfast in the morning in the garden room was pretty good, as expected - the wonderful freshly-squeezed juice more than making up for the rather small bits of sausage offered!

Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Came here for a night as we were going to the RSC. We were a bit early and the request for a double rather than twin hadn't come through from the booking website but this wasn't a problem. The room was spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable and beautifully made. Bathroom also lovely, good shower and nice toiletries. Didn't spend loads of time there but breakfast was served in the conservatory area at the back with an idyllic view across the English countryside including a vineyard. And the breakfast... Make sure you have the bacon, it's the best ever!!

It's only a short drive into Stratord from this B&B. The house is very well-presented, the host was very helpful and nice, breakfast was excellent, and the views were as advertised. There are only two rooms in the B&B, so it's not over-crowded. The only slight quirk is not having an en-suite bathroom, but that wasn't a real issue as we had our own bathroom (complete with key-accessible lock) directly opposite the room, and dressing gowns were provided. Just mentioning it in case anyone was ultra-fussy - it really wasn't an annoyance.
We're keen to re-visit Stratford and spend longer exploring the area, and would definitely return to this B&B - it was clean, comfortable, good value and quiet - a good night's sleep is almost guaranteed!

Me and my husband stayed two nights here for a little weekend away and were really pleased with our choice of B and B. We had the double room with the lovely views of the apple orchard out of our window. It came with a private bathroom which is obviously not as convenient as an en-suite but really was not a big deal as it was just a step across the hallway and was lovely and big.
The breakfasts were really tasty and we got to eat them overlooking an amazing view in a sunny, bright living room.
The location is really good for exploring the Stratford-upon-Avon and Cotswolds area because it is pretty much central for most places there. It is a very short drive to Stratford and we only got stuck in traffic once so not too much stress with that.
Overall, a really nice experience, which helped make our weekend away really pleasant, was nice knowing we were coming back in the evening to such a lovely little B&B.

Room Tip: The double room has the really good view but private bathroom, the twin/double has the ensuite.

We stayed for two nights at this very peaceful b&b. The room (double) was bright, airy and had a beautiful view and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent. Wifi was available if needed.

Whilst in a rural location (peaceful), it was perfectly situated for a night at the theatre in Stratford and an evening in Warwick (both about 10mins by car).

Room Tip: The double has a lovely view.

We stayed at this lovely B&B overnight. Ellie is was a fantastic host and really made us feel welcome. The setting is idyllic beyond words, looking over a beautiful valley right in the Cotswolds. The bedroom was very nice and the sitting room downstairs was a lovely place to have breakfast. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Catch a show at the RSC in Stratford.
