Excellent lunch in pleasant surroundings. The soup was very tasty and the sandwiches were beautifully presented!

“Impressive house of Shakespeare's daughter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

This is where Susanna, Shakespeare's eldest daughter lived with her rich medical husband John Hall. It was a large house very attractively laid out and with an excellent information sheet for visitors. There was lots of period furniture & paintings & information on 17th century medicine. You certainly get the feeling of the age! It had an enchanting garden where the doctor grew his herbs. The cafe was very nice too and for each ticket there was a £1-00 discount voucher. Certainly include a visit to this house if you do not purchase a combined ticket! Of course have that camera with you too!

“Nice house; average experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Hall's Croft is nice to visit, but not as interesting or fun as Shakespeare's Birthplace. It was the home of Shakespeare's daughter, Susanna, and her husband, Dr John Hall. There are some intriguing artefacts detailing the medical practices from that era, and also some 16th and 17th century paintings and furniture. I only spent around 30 minutes there, as there's really not that much to see.

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

You get a real sense of the past from this building and its garden, even though it has very little really to do with Shakespeare per se. An excellent cafe is attached to it.

“One of the Shakespeare houses that is not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

This is one of the Tudor homes that is often missed out by the tourists even though it is close to the church where Shakespeare is buried. The cost if low, especially if you buy the ticket that includes all the Shakespeare properties and lasts a year. Good place for a family to visit and good tea room.
