“Exceptional in all respects”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

Highly recommended . We have stayed in many top hotels around the UK and overseas but this was an outstanding hotel in every respect. The reception staff were professional and friendly, the décor was stylish and luxurious whilst retaining the full character of a fifteenth century historic building.

Our room was beautifully appointed and incredibly quiet for such a central location and the staff were extremely attentive at all times. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was first class and excellent value.
All in all I don't believe we could have had a more enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: We had a themed room which is a must

The White Swan was the perfect way to end the day after an exciting six hours in the Swan Theatre - having attended the press performances of Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies; do fight to get tickets if they transfer to London. The staff at the hotel were charming and our room lovely; so comfortable and perfectly laid out. also easy walking distance to the theatre.

One minor quibble; could catering staff be trained to deliver hot toast with a cooked breakfast rather than before it?

Note that off-season dining in Stratford was difficult. We came out of the theatre at about 10.10 and couldn't find anywhere to eat - and the hotel dining room was closed. We resorted to room service and were served delicious sandwiches - beautifully presented - in our room.

We were given an early check in and a warm welcome. The room was rather small but had a good bed ,nice bedding and a good bathroom with a large walk in shower. The hotel is in a good central position in the town. We parked the car as recommended by the hotel. The staff were all very pleasant I this hotel. We had lunch in the dining room which has some amazing original wall paintings they have uncovered and a beautiful fire on a very cold day. Lunch was very good and beautifully served by the young Italian manager and his staff. The pub area is very pleasant and has lots of comfy seats . We had a good nights sleep in our rather small room but managed it was only for one night. Breakfast was excellent , they had used excellent ingredients and we were not rushed and could sit and enjoy a leisurely Sunday breakfast with the paper . We do hope to return we had a great time. Just hope to get a bigger room ,but it was the last one when we booked so we should have expected the "runt of the family " so to speak.

Room Tip: Not 105 if you can help it

I took my husband to The White Swan for an extra christmas present and stayed in the Twelth Night room. The room was beautiful and the facilities were top notch. Everything included in the room made our experience luxurious. We had a fantastic breakfast in the morning and the customer service from all the staff was excellent. We can't wait to stay again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the most perfect break away

Had an excellent stay here over the last weekend. We had the fantastic Romeo & Juliet Suite which was well appointed with a gorgeous bathroom and standalone bath tub. After working hard across the festive period myself and my partner wanted somewhere we could settle in a relax for a couple of nights and the white swan did just that. We dined in the restaurant, I would fully reccommend the rump of Lamb, cooked to perfection. Furthermore we spoiled ourselves with a full English breakfast each morning which really did hit the spot. A great stay throughout with a high level of service from start to finish. We will be returning.

Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend. The hotel is very nice having just been refurbished. It's now a modern and welcoming place with many traditional touches. Our room was the cheapest rate but was nicely decorated with a gorgeous bathroom. Only down side was there was a corridor behind the wall behind our bed and every time someone walked along it our room shook (at 2am!!) so we didn't have the best nights sleep on the first night. However I would stay here again when in Stratford. Oh and breakfast was delicious!

Found this Inn had much more about it than I expected. The Sunday lunch was tasty, good value and served impeccably. The roast beef was particularly good. The starters were innovative.

We shall return.
