Have only ever been here for a sandwich before, but wanted to try the food, so decided to give it a go for a nice valentines meal. Boyfriend wasnt overly struck by the look of the menu on the website; words were "the starters look really good, but the mains are a bit boring". I convinced him to give it a go so we went on a Friday night. Went to have a drink before our meal, one down side is that there is harldy any seating to sit and just have a drink, and when ordering cocktails, seems only one member of staff can do this so you have to wait a while for them; my boyfriend had drank half his beer by the time I got my cocktail (it was very nice when I did get it though).
The restaurant is very nice upstairs, and as there was an offer on we decided to have a bottle of Prosecco, £15 instead of around £22, so a good offer.
We had the sticky platter to start, which was lovely, good for meat lovers! Then I had the lamb and my boyfriend had the brasied beef, he didnt even need a knife it just fell apart! Then we had a chocolate brownie and chocolate fondant to finish...only thing missing on this was the vanilla ice cream it said it came with but this didnt come with ours!?
The menu is slightly over priced in areas, around £80 for a 3 course meal and bottle of wine (without pre dinner drinks), so ok if its for a special occasion, but not if you are just going out for a nice meal...the bill may come as a bit of a shock!
Would recommend this place though for special occasions!
