“Fell short of expectations”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Ooh this was a disappointment. I'd read good reviews and the place was recommended by a friend but it just didn't match up. Staff pleasant but the service was slow and there were only two tables of customers to look after!

My pear, blue cheese and walnut starter was simply not nice. The pears were swimming in an overly strong gingery sauce. I just didn't get that at all. Things improved with my main of haddock which was quite tasty. My dessert of ginger pannacotta was lovely and saved the evening. This time the ginger level was perfect.

When the bill came I felt cheated. Too costly for the standard of food served. I'm hoping they were just having a bad night and we were unlucky??

“Best veggie meal in Warwickshire!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

The Stuffed Pepper with Mediterranean Vegetables and Glazed Goats Cheese for £10.95 is one of the finest veggie meals I've ever had! It was so good I'm going back again this week!! Often when you go out to eat at a restaurant the veggie options can be limited & a bit boring... certainly not the case here, so well done Harrington's for a superb meal & lovely atmosphere! 10 out of 10 :-)

“Nice restaurant not meeting expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We went there for an informal dinner with friends, after reading some good reviews. Perfect location, nice settings with a cosy atmosphere (can get hot and noisy quite quickly downstairs), very prompt and friendly service, but the food did not match our expectations of a fine dining experience : pretty basic starters (bruschetta and "pate" OK but so what, scallops with bacon good idea but too salty), good fish dishes (again quite simple) with tuna slightly overcooked and plaice portion too small, good deserts without much imagination, very nice white wine but avoid having an expresso as a coffee. Still a good option in Keniworth, probably better value for money at lunch, but nothing to compare with a real gastropub.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Varied menu, very reasonable , good quality food and staff are very friendly and professional. I recommend booking though as it gets very busy especially at weekends

“Good lunch, spoilt by noisy family”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

Revisited Harringtons for Saturday lunch. Food was good, we both had fish and chips. Service friendly and prompt, with a complimentary glass of house wine for ordering two courses off the set menu. What spoilt the experience for us was the fact that it got very warm, the air conditioning was at the other end of the restaurant, and unfortunately the family on the next table became very noisy, playing hide and seek with their child once they had all finished their meal. When we pointed this out to the waitress she did say it was like this at lunchtimes. Shame for the rest of us who were trying to enjoy a leisurely lunch
