Description: The oldest Indian restaurant in historic Kenilworth, the Seetar Tandoori Restaurant has been a highlight on the local dining scene since it opened its doors in 1989. Run by Fazul Ali, this welcoming restaurant is a warm and inviting place to enjoy great food with friends, family or colleagues, and the colourful dining room has lemon-coloured walls and is filled with flowers, ornaments and artworks. Conveniently located on the Warwick Road which runs through Kenilworths town centre, Seetar Tandoori Restaurant has a extensive menu of classic curries and signature dishes, and the restaurant is an easy meeting place for group dining or parties. The excellent wine selection and affordable prices make this restaurant a Kenilworth classic.

Being a fish fiend my benchmark is the Bengal fish curry - they pass, they also do a nice white fish based starter. All else seems in order, freshly made sauce

“Simply the best Indian I've ever had ! WOW”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

I haven't shut up about this place since we went last week. Its moved next door for a bigger premises. We did wait a while but nothing major , its Simply the best Indian food I've ever had!!! I had the Mumbai chicken which was so tasty with pilau rice and a peshwari naan ! Wife had a lamb dish which was equally tasty. I can't wait to go back !! Absolutely worth the five stars ! Value was good as well, brilliant ! Don't bother with another curry house, just go here. Promise you will love it if you have the same experience as us ;-)

“Excellent food & friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

A friend of ours recommended we try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Bright and contemporary it felt warm and friendly as soon as we entered.

The menu had some different items on it which sounded nice but I stuck to a traditional balti and was not disappointed. I was also asked how I liked it mild / medium or spicy which I thought was good.

To start I had the bhajis, these were the red tandoori bhajis I'd had years ago and thought had disappeared..... Fantastic !

All in all maybe not the cheapest curry around but it was very tasty and the restaurant is very smart so hey why not treat yourself, sometimes you do get what you pay for, if you want cheap get a take away.

“Supremely good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We came here on Friday night and ordered lamb byriani and pasanda, and I must say, it was probably the best curry we've ever had. They seemed to have got the cooking down to a very fine art, more so than in the past when they occupied the bulding next door. I miss the partitioned seating arrangement of the previous restaurant, but anything missed was more than made up for by the quality of the food and the genuinely friendly service. There is no doubt, we will be coming back.

“OK but...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Only 1 member of staff serving which, despite it being a quiet weekday evening, meant service was slow and not always available when needed. Food was a bit more expensive than the average Indian and portions were smaller than average, with not much meat/chicken/prawn in them. Didn't taste bad but was nothing special - same applied to surroundings. The saving grace was that there the food was not at all oily, and the moderate use of salt, garlic and chilli meant that there were none of the after effects you can sometimes get from a curry.
Overall, not a bad night. Would go back if a friend wanted to meet there but wouldn't otherwise choose it.
