We've been very slow to appreciate Kafeneon, even though we work very close by. But now that we've discovered them, we think they're fab. The food is completely unpretentious but really nice. If I had to quibble, I'd say that when I had the chicken souvlaki it was chicken thigh meat, which I don't like, and that's disappointing because I love souvlaki. But that's my problem; the taste was lovely. The portions are huge which makes it very hard to leave anything on the plate when you know you've had enough! (I've marked it down as somewhere to take my son when he visits!) Somebody has commented that their food was bland and I think I've had one meal that could have had more flavour, but that's one meal out of quite a few that we've had there, now. My husband loves the mousakka and the bolognese, and the stifada I had recently was just melt-in-the-mouth gorgeous. Great little place and dead good value, which is important these days!
