Visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch as heard was excellent but our experience was extremely disappointing.
We arrived early but were immediately shown to our seat and our drinks promptly brought to us. The driver of our party couldn't find a parking space but the manageress went out of her way to help us find one.
We ordered the ham terrine and the duck starter, both were pleasant. Then we all opted for the roast beef lunch apart frim my 4 year old daughter. When it came it looked lovely, although a very small slice of beef. After tasting it all 3 plates were sent back as were stone cold. 10 minutes later 3 new lunches were brought to us, this time the beef portion was even smaller and one slice so tough the knife wouldn't even cut through and the roast potatoes were like rocks. Again the manageress came over and was exceptionally apologetic but by this time we'd had enough.
We asked for the bill and weren't charged for the lunches or the wine which was kind but we actually left the restaurant hungry.
The staff here are excellent, so friendly and helpful and the manageress is brilliant, such a shame the food was so bad. On a positive note my daughter enjoyed the sausage and mash and the house white wine was nice.
I would possibly give this place a second chance due to the lovely atmosphere and great staff but wouldn't go for Sunday lunch.
