“Stinks but great small gig venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

The O2 has two venues and we've been to both at different times, the 1st floor room is the main stage and is where the big names play and is a good venue with good sound. Upstairs on the second floor is a smaller more intimate venue and has a great feel for the lesser known acts, we saw lulu James and she was brilliant for that venue. It's location is good and the staff are friendly and helpful, I will say I hate drinking from plastic and the pints are not cheap, the place does stink but you get that in any club/venue

“Weekend Rip Off”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

If you go to see a band on Friday or Saturday night expect to be chucked out around 10pm. The bands have to be off stage around this time so that there can be a quick tidy up before they can open again as a nightclub (Dirty Pop / Propaganda). This is wrong when you may pay £20 for a ticket and around £3.80 for a smelly flat pint.

“As with most it's the 02 academy now”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

It's good but the treck up the stairs to the venue is kinda annoying... it's not huge as bigger bands play elsewhere so it's more intimate. A few seats around the outside so you can sit and watch while having a drink. Balcony seats aswell but i've never ventured up there so can't comment. Nice wee venue but not my fave, does the job though. Cloakroom aswell, so you don't have to keep your jacket on all night but no idea how much it is.

“Very good venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Visited here to see a band and as I have been before I knew what to expect. It can get really packed to be warned.
There are plenty of bars and you don't have to wait long to get served although you do have to use plastic glasses.

There is a decent sized standing area/dance floor which gets really full and there is a higher level at the rear which is better for viewing. There is also a small seating area upstairs.

They have some really good bands on here and at a fair price when compared to the nearby Metro Arena.
Keep an eye on who is coming and go you wont be disappointed just expect it to be busy. We had 2 teenagers with us and they really enjoyed it and I also saw children as young a 10 year old having a good time although they must have had trouble seeing the stage
