“Superb!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2010

What a great hotel. It was recommended to me and I stayed with my wife and some friends. The staff and service was superb. The new restaurant was excellent and you could experience the night life of Newcastle without being on top of it. If it had a spa it would be 5*

We recently had our wedding at Jesmond Dene House. We had an absolutely perfect day and couldn't fault anything. The great hall is stunning where we had our ceremony, wedding breakfast and nightime party. The staff offer a first class service and you don't have to worry about anything.
We stayed in the apartment suite which is fab and the rest of our party stayed in other rooms which were also fab. We would highly reccomend this hotel as they helped make our prefect day.

Me and my Husband recently booked the Jesmond Dene House for afternoon Tea for our Gran and three of her friends for afternoon tea. They were greeted with Champagne and after having a selection of sandwiches and teas to choose from, they also received a small gift box with a cake inside to take away with them. They couldnt compliment Jesmond Dene and the staff enough and they had a great day and for all their was also a wedding on they still got the attention they deserved!

Paid just short of £200 for a room in this place, and you have to acknowledge that you are not paying just for the room in which you sleep, its the whole cigar, the public rooms are lovely, the grounds great, the leisurely breakfast, which is fantastic, and the quality of furnishing and tolietries is also top drawer.

However, so is the price of stuff, bar prices are extortionate, bottles of Peroni are a ridiculous price, as is the wine. The room was small, had no both, and was, as others have said- dark. Some staff fantastic, some pretentious, mainly the snotty nosed little boy behind reception who thinks he is something special.

The meal we had from the Market Menu will go down as 'one of the best', absolutely lovely and good service too. Don't know why we were allocated the disabled bedroom, no 6 but despite the low sink and high toilet and no separate shower cubicle, the room was lovely for us, except ...... the lighting! It's sooooooo dark and the bedside reading lamps are impossible to read with. Please increase the lighting - the darkness makes me feel depressed and it's a known fact that when you get 'over a certain age' you need increased lighting for reading. And frankly all bar one other couple staying at the same time were 'over a certain age' too. Also we couldn't find anything to open the beer bottle out of the fridge, so had to use a spoon, bit odd. Lovely touch to have fruit and complimentary bottled water in the room and the tea bags were really quite decent. Staff were very attentive and polite, all in all a really lovely hotel and I'd have no hesitation in recommending for anyone touring the area (it's not a good choice if you need a city centre location).

booked one nights stay and an evening meal for my wifes birthday, on arrival the staff were very polite and unlike other hotels we have stayed the booking in process was fast and painless! on being shown to our room, i observed a hoist of fresh fruit and herbs in the surrounding gardens which i believe are used to prepare meals, our room had both a double shower and a bath and two wash basins, ideal the bedroom had a flatscreen tv, a dvd player and even a digital radio, this hotel really is one of the best hotels we have stayed offering quality bedrooms. in the evening we visited the restaurant the menu offers a hoist of locally sourced foods and varied dishes at competitive prices, the staff were very polite and made sure you were given a service you would expect from a 5 star hotel. after a fansastic nights sleep we enjoyed an Eglish Breakfast with freshly baked bread, we will most certainly return in the very near future

Wonderful food, service and accommodation. One of the best hotels in Newcastle with extremely helpful efficient staff. The food was all wonderful but OMG - the cheese!!!! just fabulous.
