“Small hotel big on service and quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Stayed overnight with evening meal. Room was well appointed with every facility you could require. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient in all areas from reception to bar staff and especially restaurant staff. We enjoyed the choice from the newly introduced evening menu and the food was excellent. Breakfast in the garden room was also of a high standard with so much choice from the buffet and the full English was superb. Morning coffee in the lounge as most enjoyable. Overall a very positive experience and would most certainly return in future. My compliments to Management and staff.

This was the most fabulous hotel in a fantastic location - I lived in Jesmond 20 years ago and to return here and stay in such luxury was a real treat. The rooms were lovely, the food served in the restaurant was delicious. I will not hesitate to come back and would recommend it highly. A little piece of heaven. And only 10 minutes from the city centre.

I have started to stay here whilst on business because I find it really comfortable and welcoming which is always a benefit when one is travelling alone. As i travel so much it is really nice to stay somewhere that doesn't free like a business hotel.
The staff are all really friendly and helpful, the rooms are well decorated and equipped and the bar area with the open fire is really cosy and relaxing.
On each occasion I have eaten in the bar and the food was excellent.

We stayed for a long weekend as part of a long overdue treat. The service started way before arrival. Reception and booking staff top marks all round. On arrival a lovely greeting and such an easy uncomplicated check in. The room was spotless, warm, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom also with it underfloor heating, huge shower with great pressure and lashings of hot water was faultless.
This was a weekend away but we struggled to leave this lovely hotel. Lunch on the decking with the carefully maintained garden of flowers and herbs, both utilised in the hotel and kitchen, was the perfect antidote to a long journey. A walk was essential down the Dene only a short distance from the hotel which takes you right to the Tyne or a short circuit as we did is perfect.
There are loads of places to eat but we opted for the restaurant both nights. A vegetarian tasting menu with locally grown produce supplied to the hotel. Vegetables prepared in such a away that awakened the taste buds. For example hay flavoured ice cream sounds unusual - try it. We loved it.
The staff are professional and will happily help with anything from menu and wine choices to local knowledge or general chat. What I mean is that they are unpretentious and comfortable in their environment. I mention this as it seems a rare quality in so many places.
Definitely planning on a return visit.

A group of us stayed at Jesmond Dene House in November 2012 for a close friends birthday. The service we recieved upon arrival was fantastic, all of our rooms were upgraded and we couldn't have asked for more. We had lunch in the restaurant where again the service was second to none and the food was delicious. We then finished off the day with afternoon tea where the staff were most accomodating with a couple of allergies within the group.
We ventured into Jesmond on the evening by taxi which took no time at all before retiring to our comfy beds to await our delicious breakfast in the morning before heading home
I can't comment on the fitness centre or swimming pool as we didn't see or use either facilities
Was a truly delightful stay and would definately recommend to others

Recently stayed at Jesmond Dene House for my birthday. Had a fantasticly, relaxing stay. Surrounded by snow on the outside, and warm and cosy on the inside. Upgraded to a suite so even more perfect! The hotel was very busy as it was Burns night celebration, however the staff were still attentive to each and every guest in a personal way. Excellent location, within walking distance to Jesmond Dene.

This is a pleasant 4 star hotel located about a mile and a half from the city centre. The rooms are reasonably well furnished and equipped and of an adequate size. The real highlight is the excellent food. Dinner has a strong French influence and I enjoyed a very good steak with cafe de paris butter while breast of pheasant was appreciated. The breakfast is also of a high standard. Service is efficient and friendly.
