“Perfect location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I stayed in the Premier Inn when I was on my stage party.

It is located in a great spot, close to all the night spots etc. The room was what you would expect, basic and clean. The hotel also has a good bar.

I would go back if I was on another stag party, but not a hotel for anyone else other than stag/hen groups.

If you are looking somewhere quiet & relaxing break, I would look elsewhere.

Stayed overnight as we were at a concert at the Academy and fancied making a night of it despite living locally.
For only £29 it was worth it had a great night and not worry of getting home afterwards.
Lovely building in a superb location, car park underneath only cost £7 overnight which is worth it as its safe & secure.
Room big and had everything needed, bed was enormous and for someone well over 6ft that's not always easy to find.
They offer a 'guaranteed good nights sleep' and they delivered struggle to get up in the morning so comfortable.
Has a bar which had very reasonable prices didn't eat on there on th evening but menu looked decent and tempting. We did have breakfast which was superb very good produce and plentiful.

Staff very helpful & friendly, there was a good cross section of people from groups to work/reps and a good few families so proves they are doing something right.

Would certainly use it again.

Room Tip: Ask for higher room to avoid any possible road noise.

Stayed here on Valentines night on a £29 deal. I actually meant to book the millenium but I slipped when booking. The hotel is right at the base of the Tyne Bridge and next to the many quayside bars. Parking was £8 in the secure carpark underneath the hotel. I have to say you must select all of your staff for PI on their personality! Every staff member was lovely from the minute we checked in. The same that we experienced at the millenium in November, where the staff were also so nice. Our room was nice and clean and the bed huge and comfy. The only slight differences in this hotel was probably linked to the area of the hotel and possibly customers using the hotel for stag/hen parties. The kettle was securely tied to the dressing table, no toilet rolls but a toilet roll dispenser - flashbacks to school days. There was also a lot of contractors there and my husband and I had two drunken ones being really offensive when we were going back to our room, we didnt really expect this on a midweek stay! Although not pleasant, we didnt let it spoil our stay. Breakfast was lovely as expected and again the staff were really friendly. Well done to all of your staff, they are all a credit to your hotel.

Room Tip: Possibly ask for a room to the rear of the hotel away from the bars.

'Helen' at premier inn help us with this surprise gift for a family member who is in the army , we decided to pay for a gift of night in hotel for them as part of their wedding present she arranged everything for us and got a great deal for them. They had a fantastic room with a great view lovely and clean and with extra touches that Helen provided to make them feel welcome and special as it was their wedding night. They had a great time and felt like they'd had a honeymoon at a 5***** hotel. They had a lovely breakfast which had a lot of choice.WE THE FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU.
They have already said they will be booking their first anniversary at this great hotel.

Room Tip: Get the staff to advise you they know the hotel and are a great help.

Will never stay in Premier Inn again in the winter, one little electric heater in the room is totally inadequate for heat losses with temp outside of 2 degrees.Other than that room generally reasonably value, would like to know where the special offers indicated of 29 pound per night are, this was 76 but it is city centre

Stayed here as friends who live in Newcastle were getting married me, my wife and our children stayed in this hotel for a weekend. Rooms were good and extremely clean. Will return in the future if visiting the city again.

The location of this hotel is great in terms of distance to the centre, however i do think it depends on the room you get. We had a room at the back of the hotel which backed onto a pub. There was noise well into the early hours from outside as well as rowdy guests in the corridors. The heater in the room was rubbish and the room was freezing. There were no radiators or towel rails in the bathroom so the towels were wet the next morning. Pillows were rubbish and barely slept a wink. No doubt we could have swapped rooms but i didnt fancy doing that at 1am. Mentioned it to receptionist and after a big sigh she refunded the room price under their guarantee. This hotel has a great location but will definetly not return.
