5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

All round excellent experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, spacious with all the amenities you need at an excellent price. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!! Do not believe any of the negative reviews - we had a lovely time.

Upon arrival, the cheerful chap announced that their computer systems were down and that we'd have to do things old school, including him letting us into our rooms. He did make clear that we could call upon him at any time though. Sure enough, it was no problem, there was no inconvenience at any point and the staff attitude was spot on.

One strange thing we found out about - Booking.com (which we used to book the room) assumes you need a room adapted for disabled access. Not really a problem though, and Premier were happy to change us to another room if we wanted.

The room was what you always get with Premier. In my experience, it's a chain that you know what you get with and you can't go wrong. They're always clean, the bed is always comfy and I for one quite like the colour scheme they use.

There was a great range of drinks and cold items to help yourself to at breakfast. The waiter who took our order for the cooked items had a welcoming, pleasant manner about him. Just one small criticism - this is the second breakfast I've had at a Beefeater attached to a Premier Inn, and they cannot do hash browns - they're terrible. The rest of it was of a decent quality though, as you expect with Premier.

Once again enjoyed our stay in a Premier Inn. Clean, comfortable, great telly and lovely staff.
Had a wee problem with our meal in the Beefeater next door but staff were very apologetic and eventually my husband got a meal that was edible. Shame it was a cheaper meal than originally ordered, and paid for, with no refund was offered.

Hotel and facilities were very good. Good location close to where my meeting was. Adjoining Beef-eater was very good, Breakfast was more that adequate, a good start to the day.

Location was as described, I was limited in where to stay and this filled in my criteria

We use Premier Inns quite a lot and this one was not up to standard. Room spotless and comfortable as normal. However some reception staff were poor, on arrival we had to wait for confirmation our room was ready due to one receptionist gossiping on the phone to another Premier Inn. Our room was very hot and you could not open the window as the hotel is directly in the flight path of Newcastle airport, sounds like planes are landing on the roof. Soundproofing also needed inside we had youngsters practicing long jump in the room above us at 12.30am and the light fittings were in danger of falling off the ceiling. Night receptionist sorted them out very quickly. Next morning we were assured that our money for that night had been refunded to our credit card in line with Premier Inn guarantee, on checking at departure this proved not to be the case. This was rectified quickly by the receptionist on duty.

Room Tip: Top floor away from fire doors.

I like the new build Premier Inn's because they offer a simple, clean: "does what it says on the box" concept.

Plenty of free parking, beds are roomy, over bath showers have great water pressure, heating is easy to control (no a/c), modern plasma TV's and 30 mins free WiFi (free with no time limit in the Beefeater next door).

Adjacent Beefeater, provides a freshly cooked breakfast to order, no stagnant sausages warming on heated plates.

Garage on site for cans of pop, snacks and a McDonalds.

Does the job.
