“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is great value for money. The off site car parking Is a nuisance, but the staff are so helpful, and the room cleanliness and condition were probably the best value for money we had on our car journey from London to Edinburgh. Highly recommended.

“Exquisite customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

The two receptionists Andrew and Lee did absolutely everything in their power to help us get the information we needed. Helped us print boarding passes, find food, pre-order a taxi, answered all questions possible. And had a wonderful sense of humour. And an eagerness to help that came from within. Amazing customer service!

“Good for price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for one night on business. Clean basic hotel. Reception staff very helpful and polite. Chinatown nearby where we ate in the Neptune which was excellent. Minutes away from mainline station...breakfast basic but good choice. For 59 pounds it is not bad value for location and staff.

“Handy for the Metro Radio Arena.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Stayed here recently for one night only to visit the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena for a concert. We decided to book as it was near to the Arena (about 10-12 mins on foot) and there is convenient multi-storey parking nearby. However what they don't tell you before you book, is that the car park (£5 per night) is mainly for permit holders, and you have to use the higher levels -that would perhaps be OK but the car park lift was broken when we stayed, and so we had to walk up and down several flights of stairs to Level 11 of the car park. Otherwise, the hotel room was OK - compact but with everything needed for a comfortable night. Cleanliness was reasonable but could be improved - (not sure if this was partly due to some wear and tear of fixtures and fittings but some parts of the room appeared tired and needed a deep clean). The shower was not very well powered either, and no bath in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions to nearby places of interest. The hotel has a spacious and comfortable bar area which also doubles up as a breakfast room. Breakfast was self service and plenty of food available - cereals, breads and a few pastries, fruit, sausages, scrambled egg and beans plus fruit juice and tea/coffee etc. Overall it was satisfactory, but not the best value for money I've ever had compared to other hotel chains. Would maybe consider going back for another short stay if ever I needed to be in the area.

Room Tip: Our room on the 5th floor faced the back of the hotel and was nice and quiet.

Dear Reviewer
Thank you for your kind review, we strive to give great and impressive service to all of our guests and it makes us happy to read we exceeded your expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back to our establishment. With regard to the parking it is indeed best to go to the top floor as you are then assured of a space, with regard to charges we do have a link on our website for uptodate charges, the charge at present for the day is £5.00 but is free from 5pm until 8am. Once again thank you for the kind words of praise.
Kind regards

“Poor, won't bother again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Choice of tepid or cold shower in the morning, very limited cooked breakfast options and staff didn't even bother to ask how my stay was on check out.
TV needs replacing too, big old CRT unit the kept dropping the picture and sound.
No Wifi in the room.
On the plus side it was near the railway station.
Wouldn't bother again.

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to leave us a candid review. I would like to offer a sincere apology. While we understand that your stay was not 100% satisfactory, we would hope that you would give us another chance to make your stay as best as it can be.Unfiortuantely on the day in question one of our boilers broke down which meant the water was not to the normal temperature, this was fixed later on in the day so is now back to normal. We do presently offer Free WIFI within the great room however we are due to be getting new flat screen TV's and WIFI within the the next few months. Thanks once again for your review
Kind regards
