My boyfriend and I stayed here overnight while we saw a show in Newcastle. The hotel is so close to the station, a 5 minute walk. It's clean, quiet and the beds are the best I've ever slept in! So comfortable! Wish I could've taken them home! Staff were friendly. Was perfect for an overnight stay. Would recommend and reuse it!

Room 407 was noisy by lift so they were most courteous and moved me to the only available double which was a mobility room. (turned out to be noisier as by the road! ). the bathroom towel dispenser ( very odd I thought for a hotel room?!) was a bit rusty & the support bar by the shower didn't look that clean. The bed was clean but I think some of the rooms (not mine but colleagues) were like saunas. Breakfast was ok, I like marmite on toast and tea so reasonably easily pleased!
Wouldn't stay again our of choice but must say staff were great.

This hotel has improved even more since our last visit.The reception staff are excellent and friendly.The rooms are what you expect at an Express ,basic but spotless, with everything you need.The bar and lounge/breakfast area lacks atmosphere but is perfectly fine for what it does.The main area of improvement has been the set up for breakfast.Everything follows a logical route making accessing food easy.This is not always the case at other places including Expresses.Again,the only hot food available is sausage,beans and scrambled eggs. However, the other parts of the breakfast offer many options including fresh fruit,yogurts,toast,mini muffins,cheese etc.As this is included in your rate this is good value.Another plus to this hotel is that car parking is next door and is free from 17.00 to 08.00 next morning.It is also only 80p an hour thereafter.In conclusion, if you can get good rate, this hotel ticks all the boxes for an informal stay.

Stayed here as a treat after a concert staff were very friendly and the rooms were extremely clean. Near to all central locations would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family
