Flat, easy walking, when the tide is out! Plenty bars/food in Tynemouth to warm up afterwards! The beach is often quite busy even out of season.

Beautiful beach,even when its busy theres still tons of space.Highly reccommend Crusoes for a hot chocolate.
The beaches at Tynemouth are all lovely and clean, we have 3.the biggest The Long Sands, Ideal to sit, walk along,swim,also beautiful views, also plenty places to go for a meal or a drink, also handy for buses, or metro
Remember your purse and have a hot chocolate at Crusoe's. if you prefer something a bit smarter, have breakfast at The Grand, or one of the many cafes in Tynemouth Village.
Always a good place to go for a walk, whatever the season. Good in winter when there are fewer people around. Good views up and down the coast to Blyth & St. Mary's Island or south to Tynemouth priory. Plenty of teshops nearby for refreshment. Parking is very handy at the top of the promenade. Dogs only allowed on certain areas.Good access from the metro or bus too.
It blows the cobwebs away.
