My partner and I have stayed at this hotel a number of times now...and have always had a pretty good experience. As previously stated....it can be difficult actually finding the entrance as it isn't easily identified. However, once inside,we have always found the staff to be polite and attentive. I was able to check in around 2ish...which is always helpful when your away for a weekend as every moment counts. Our room was on the second floor...and as the weather had cooled down somewhat,we didn't need to use the air con....but...a word of warning...don't keep your windows open....as this is a hotel situated on a main street...and as it's Newcastle and people party until the early hours....you won't get much sleep!!! The rooms are well furnished...and if I needed anything to moan about...it would be that a small fridge wouldn't go amiss...as there is always a complimentary bottle of water left....but it's not too tasty when it's warm. The bed was really comfy...and everything was nice and clean (as you would expect....although our bathroom sink was a little slow at draining away). Otherwise...we would say...yet another pleasant stay...in a hotel that is very central to masses of bars and a number of restaurants....and both central station and the metro (monument)very close by.Not a bad price for what most hotels charge you today....however we didn't use the restaurant,so are unable to comment...(the smell of fish can be a bit off putting though when you walk to the lift).
