“Friendly little Cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014 via mobile

Lovely little cafe just right for coffee and a snack. Bacon sandwich was great and lovely selection of cakes. Tables are a little bit close together A good place to pop in if you are nearby

“Friendly staff, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

Came in on a Sunday looking for late breakfast to find they serve until 3pm.
Great food and really friendly staff. Lovely mix of people and really family friendly, even giving the kids on the next table a colouring pack.
Good value for money too.
Can't recommend highly enough!

“Excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

I was there with colleagues for lunch on Saturday and Sunday and really enjoyed the food on both occasions; the lamb pie was particularly good, well seasoned and very high quality ingredients. I was in need of comfort food and this pie really hit the spot. The staff were all very cheerful and efficient ( we had a time limit for lunch ) and welcoming. We will be back on our next visit to the area in December.

“Very good hangover breakfast.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

Nothing says an English hangover like an English Breakfast, and this place does one hefty fry-up.
Think about everything you would ever want from a fry-up- eggs, beans, bacon, sausage, toast, grilled tomato, fried mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding- and literally, it's there on your plate in a certainly generous portion. All the ingredients were of good quality and locally sourced, so it wasn't any old bog-standard greasy spoon fry-up. Altogether it came to over £7 with either tea, coffee, or fruit juice included.

A pleasant location in Newcastle's student hub and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend it to hungover students, curious couples, and hungry families.

“Brilliant breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

My brother took me to Cafe Bar One in South Shields for brunch. We shared the big breakfast for two - a huge platter to share. Started with porridge, in small individual bowls - so good we couldn't skip it, even though we knew the platter of bacon, sausage, black pudding, hash browns, scrambled and fried eggs was arriving. It was all freshly cooked and delicious. I also had toast, butter and marmalade. Plus good filter coffee, as much as we could drink. For £10. It is excellent.
