“Don't waste your petrol”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

We bought a groupon voucher for this place, booked and appeared on wednesday - took one look at the tables and decor and the grubby curtain separating cafe from kitchen and walked out. Have been to goa twice and eaten in several cafes that locals use there - not one of them was dirty like this.

“Please don't bother”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Not very clean ( sticky tables ) VERY slow service and microwaved food. We were 1 of 2 couples in the place and waited over 20 minutes for drinks ( warm coke from a can as no alcohol available ). We did ask for ice but that was forgotten. Waited over 30 minutes for starters which were soggy and clearly microwaved. The only sound in the place was a local radio station( which wasn't even tuned in properly) and the microwave oven pinging. This is not authentic Indian food. We had allowed plenty of time but ended up taking the main course as a take away due to the service being so slow. A 3rd couple arrived whilst we were there who waited around 10 minutes to be spoken to at all. Main courses were barely OK at best, watery and tasted of a standard curry powder. There are only 3 choices on the standard curry menu ( a few more vegetarian options ) A massive let down and really poor all round.

The chill out cafe is host to some of the finest, authentic indian cuisine newcastle has to offer. If you're sick and tired of the bland, over priced dishes curry houses of the city center boast, this little indian soul food cafe will have you changing the light bulbs upon your first bite.

bursting with flavour.

“Super Food”

Wow. Finally found a place where i can take my family to eat great Indian food. I hope they can maintain this fine quality. Staff are very nice and the atmosphere felt very homely.
