We have just returned from a weekend at the Jurys Inn and will never be staying again. Trying to find the hotel at night was a bit of a nightmare as it is next door to a building site. As mentioned in previous reviews the hotel is in a gay area which did not bother us, but its a 5 minute walk to non-gay pubs and clubs. Our double room was quite claustrophobic and room cleaning did not happen! (the maid said she would be back later when we questionned her - but did not show). Breakfast at £9.50 a go, was so not worth it- not much on offer and hardly hot!.
When returning from a night out we were greeted by two burly doormen, demanding to see our keycards before we were allowed in. We obliged and then he looked at me and asked where was mine, despite the fact the card showed two people were sharing the room. I told them that I had left our other card in the room and I was then escorted to the front reception desk where I was questionned on what the room number was and which name it was in (away from my boyfriend!) - I was made to feel like a prostitute sneaking into the hotel. Naturally we complained and was told this was fire safety practice, despite the hotel not actually knowing who was in the hotel and who wasnt. We will never be returning again. BEWARE!!!!!!
