From the minute I checked in I was impressed by the utter professionalism of the staff. Everything was dealt with efficiently and always with a smile. I got upgraded because of my club status and so were our friends because they were with us, a very nice touch, unexpected but very much appreciated.
The Balcony room we got whilst not the biggest was clean and well laid out and the free mini bar with beer and wine was a lovely touch. Good choice of TV channels and the toiletries were really good quality. Aircon was effective. The only downside was a standard lamp that didn’t work and an empty beer bottle filled with old cigarette ends on the balcony that wasn’t noticed by the housekeeping staff. However, this was a minor niggle.
Cocktails were terrific with a great variety on offer.
We ate in MPW on the first evening where the food is superb and once again the sheer professionalism of the staff stood out. Effortless, friendly and attentive without being over the top, they were first class and a credit to the hotel. Well done everyone and thanks! They work hard and deserve the plaudits. I’ve stayed in many quality hotels on my travels and these guys match anything I’ve seen so far.
Breakfast food was excellent as well with eggs cooked to order.
The location was great if you’re arriving by train and shopping is also a short walk away.
All in all a great place to stay and definitely a place I will return to in the not too distant future.
