“Baltic Art Gallery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Well worth a visit even if you are not an art lover as such. The views of Newcastle from the outdoor viewing gallery are superb. From the quayside you walk over the amazing Millennium bridge to get to The Baltic, which is an old Flour Mill refurbished to hold "modern" art. Great views from the glass lift with a restaurant on floor 6, cafe on the ground level and gift shop.

If in Newcastle give it a try, if only for the spectacular views. And remember everyone sees art differently.

“Baltic Art Gallery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Loved my visit here, building is superb inside and out, lovely gift shop and cafe and I believe there is a restaurant there aswell! There is a really good gift shop within the Baltic centre and they do really good exhibitions aswell. Worth a look just for the building and views from inside even if your not an art lover! :)

“If you modern art you will like this trash”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

This is the worst place I have visited not becose of the staff or the good lift ride but the rubbish that is on show there so called modern art I would even get any of it out of a skip it is that bad however if you in to the kind of thing you may like it more the only thing worth going for is the lift ride or if your at a loose end and its raining it has a cafe I have never used that so I am unable to tell you what that's like

I would score this 2/10

“what was that all about?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

the best thing about the baltic isn't the exhibitions but simply watching those who go to see the exhibitions. View from the top is worth the effort though

“Somewhere I Don't Visit Often Enough”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

The Art Blows hot and cold, to be expected I guess on what passes for "ART" these days, I'd prefer to go to the Laing. Saying that the cafe/restaurant is nice and the buildings have photographic attraction, the shop in my eyes the best constant attraction for the books and little trinkets.
