“Made our weekend. 'GREAT LITTLE ITALIAN!!!!!!!'”
My fiance and i had a weekend in Newcastle. After shopping in the city centre and noticed The Gate so decided on a bite to eat. There are many options inside and a bouncer directed us upstairs to a "Great Little Italian" and he wasn't wrong.
Upstairs was heaving but Ninos took our fancy, we were seated straight away by a young lady who realised we were Irish as she seated us and struck up a conversation on how both her parents were from Ireland near where we are from and loves going back, as drinks were taken she jokingly offered Guiness to my fiance which he happy accepted. A friendly conversation to the start of our evening which made us feel welcomed we were happy to have chosen Ninos out of the rest of venues in the Gate.
With such an extensive menu it took us a while to decide what we wanted.
For starters we got a garlic bread with mozerella cheese, which was massive thankfully we got that to share.
For main dishes I chose a dish of chicked wrapped in parma ham which was satisfyingly tasty my fiance decided on a steak which came with real homemade chips.
We cleared our plates after thoroughly enjoying both our meals.
Desserts were offered and my fiance couldn't resist temptation on a white and dark chocolate cheesecake which was recommended by the waitress and it was divine, 2 spoons were placed so i couldn't resist temptation either.
Overall our evening at Nino's was thoroughly enjoyed. The service was very quick even though the restaurant was bustling with parties, the staff were all friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable.
After recieving our bill, we asked for a recommendation on a nice bar to have a few more drinks and were happily pointed in the direction to enjoy the rest of our evening.
The only downside is its location, we wouldnt have even known it was here other than strolling past The Gate but, now we do and a return visit to this italian is decided upon our next visit to the toon!!!
