“Night with the girls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for one night with a group of girls. Lovely, modern, friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable room, reasonable breakfast and limited car park. Overall would definitely recommend for singles, couples, families. Great location as good value.

Yes - here is a great stay near to Newcastle centre.

Good private parking plus excellent and comfy rooms with all the facilities and close to a Metro city centre link.

Clean with good continents breakfasts and with excellent and modern decor . Staff are helpful and a range of eating places nearby including a Wait-rose and bank ATM.

Gwesty bendigedig ddim y rhy bell o canol. Metro yn y stryd. Brecwast continental a maes parcio saff yn y cefn. Croeso da yma.

Room Tip: A room at the back or side if possible ! Thurs/Fri/Sat nights can be active in the street outside...

Stayed one night and very happy for the price. Rooms are small but efficient. Staff are helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend it and stay again. Location is great for visiting anyone connected with the universities.

We stayed here as we was venturing out for a night life in Newcastle , we did not want hotel rooms as there was a group of us and we did not want to stay in a travel lodge. The appartment which sleeps 6 was easy to find but there are two Newcastle jesmond on Osborne road no 34 or 105 ours was 105. We checked in and was amazed at the size of this ground floor appartment it was huge it had all the amenities,we had three bedrooms one,was a twin the other was doubles, kitchen two showers, big lounge,it was ideal for us we had a great night out, breakfast was continental, there was a variety of cereals breads croissants crumpets etc.
As we came to check out a disgruntled man who lives upstairs was giving us abuse he lived upstairs and had no knowledge of the appartment being rented out. We informed him to contact reception. Overall the stay was good and we would come back .

very good value, very clean, well presented with good thought gone into preparing a new hotel
staff friendly, maybe could offer some cooked breakfast, good carparking facility. Maybe could benefit from a bar, but plenty of nearby hotels with bars

The staff were polite, the hotel and the rooms were clean, newly decorated but small; tis' a good job I didn't have a cat to swing! The automatic door closers either weren't adjusted or were not adjustable which meant that the doors slammed shut very, very noisily well into the early hours.

I would rather that a hotel lists itself as NOT providing breakfast than a Continental Breakfast that provided individual Dairy Lea spreads, Baby Bel Cheese & Plastic slices of (you guessed it!) cheese. The one thing I find difficult to eat in the morning by the way is . . . . . cheese!

Also on offer was apples, bananas, semi dried bread, small boxed cereals and the cheapest individual Nescafe 'Original' coffee packs which I find unpalatable. Perhaps the owners need to visit the continent to understand what the customers expect? There weren't even basic slices of cheap economy ham on offer :o(

My Partner booked this hotel, I will make sure that I book next time, and it won't be here.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Well redocorated accommodation, the bedroom was beautifully designed, well-equipped and extremely comfortable. Nicely done-out all through, and had the feel-good factor on entering. Good value option for what it offered.

There seemed to be a few teething troubles, most notably an interruption to the water supply one morning which was only restored part-way through breakfast. It would have been nice to have been supplied with some hand wipes in the breakfast area given that no-one would have been able to wash their hands before coming down. The door-closing springs for the bedrooms and fire-doors also need adjusting to a setting to shut more slowly and not to loudly slam as at present.

The breakfast itself was okay, but not overly inspiring. Whilst it was nice to have crumpets available, the croissants were laughably minute! Coffee was instant granules in sachets - cheaper b&b's usually manage better than this!

The service from the receptionsists varied wildly - the booking and arrival were handled with excellent customer service, but oh dear, the woman who arrived for the morning shift was so obviously disgruntled with having to be at work that it was almost like a TV comedy sketch.

And please, move the smoking area to somewhere other than immediately outside the front door - it may comply with the letter of the law, but misses the whole point of having a choice of whether to breathe in smoke or not!

So a few reservations, but overall was pleased by this choice - certainly compared with the other lager-swilling hell-holes I noticed further down the same road!

Room Tip: Somewhere away from the loudly-slamming door closure springs!
