“A proper Keep”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Love this place and worth going to the top for the views over Newcastle. The Great Hall is well preserved and has a feeling of grandeur. Need to be fit with all the stairs.

“well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

After much persuasion my partner took me here on sunday.have always wanted to visit and it was well worth the £4.00 entry fee.Make sure you dont miss anything as there are loads of nooks+crannies.A must is a visit up to the turrets, long way up the stairs though and very steep, definately not suitable for disabled.Fantastic view of the city from here.Make sure you pick up all the freebie leaflets, there full of information(im still reading through)

“A good Day Out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We called here having found it by accident. Easy to find.
Not good for people with disabiitys, as there are a lot of steps and uneven ground. But lots of interesting facts and some displays. Not great for parking. But the kids will love it as there are lots of places for kids to explore. Wonderful views from the top.
A good few hours spent here.
Only downside there is no Toilet or Food., but there is a Pub across the road, which accommodates both of these.

“Quentin Blake at the Laing Art Gallery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Fantastic. You probably know his work from childrens books, but here he goes onto another level. One series of cartoons combines old age with circus performers - and how uplifting and life affirming they are. Another series (for a maternity hospital in France) are about mothers and babies swimming together and it is amazing how he can use a few rough lines and splashes of colour to convey such optimism and love. Truly inspirational - you will feel so much better after seeing them - even if you felt fine before!

“Pity it was closed at the time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Castle wasn't open on day I was there, due to flooding a couple of days before, so only had a look from the outside, but looks good.
