this is a stunning Cathedral, a must see whilst in Newcastle. A mix of new and old in a perfect spot, close to trains/busess/taxis. Very tranquil and relaxing x

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Have seen a couple of exhibitions there. It is a grand building but not quite in the same league as Durham Cathedral! But I must apologise for my comments as I am not a Christian.

“Peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Found The Cathedral by chance and I'm so glad we did. It's a haven from the bustling city centre. The stained glass is amazing and there is so much of it each window depicting a story:). The alters are all carved in wood or marble. I found the Cathedral very interesting and would satisfy any age group.

“A long overdue visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

Time to spare in Newcastle prior to a lunch meeting.

Entered this wonderful building just before midday - organ playing for the midday service in the side chapel. Lovely setting.

Then meandered round amazed by the history contained in this building- wonderful stained glass work , Armourals to old families / regiments and history of Tyneside.

It is a place that is well worth the effort to get to by the old castle keep , not far from Guild Hall. You either stroll down Grey Street or a long from the station.

Will be back with husband so he can see his grandfathers regiment - Tyneside Irish.
