“Super old church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

St andrews is a really old church & churchyard going way back in centuries, the interior is all original with the tiled aisle floor, some of the headstones dat way back & it's really spooky passing on a dark night when all the trees are blowing with the wind, it's closeby stowell street which houses an original good length of our castle wall & handy for centre of town, a nice old church worth a visit.

“Fantastic- well worth a gander!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

We had a very informative chat with a chap who worked in the church, although I forget his name. He knew his stuff about the church. He let me ring the bells, and took us up into the bell tower to see the bells. He showed us the gap used to feed the ill or lepers. The church was were King Charles I was taken for his communion whilst been held captive by the Scots. the church also has a mass grave (location unknown, but obviously not on the consecrated ground) full of witches and 1 wizard, after they were hanged locally. the church also has the largest font cover I've ever seen!
