A green zone close to the city center is how i would describe Jesmond Dene.
We often walk in the dene as its so close to home but feels like your out in the sticks. Pets corner is a small area designed to keep the children entertained, a few animals such as pigs and goats also rabbits, guinea pigs and a huge selection of birds, non of which you are allowed to feed.
A newly built cafe is close by selling the usual tea and scones, the owner is a little moody and the service not that good either but give it a go, you may catch her on a good day !
Walk to the top of the dene and you will find a park for the kids (paddy freemans), a great place for them to run off some of their energy.
The dene can be very steep in places and will get the heart thumping if this is your thing, it can also be used for a gentle stroll, something for everyone.
