Stayed here with my friend as we planned a night out on the town and for only £29 this hotel was cheaper than a taxi home for us both. At first glance the room seemed nice, small, only enough room to walk around the bed. But pretty average. But on closer inspection the room was not very clean. I found a huge clump of long brown hair on the bedroom carpet behind the door. (Neither of ours!!) and had to use toilet roll to pick this up and flush away. Also there were a few cigarette (I assume) holes/burns on the net curtain which were very unsightly. Also rather a lot of smudge/finger/scuff marks to the wall around the bed, makes it overall seem a little scruffy. Sink and taps could have been cleaner, water marks on arrival.
However this being said, the bed was very confortable and the room suited our needs as we were only back to sleep. Location was great as we could walk to pubs and clubs.
It was however very cold when we got back and the instructions for the heating on the wall did not seem to apply to the control w had so I eventually gave up and turned the fans off altogether and just put on a jumper to go back to bed!
On a final note, our member of staff on check in was nice and chatty, check in was quick and I slept ok once I warmed up. If I had paid any more than £29 I would not be a very happy customer, but as this is cheap I can overlook these few problems. But really no matter how cheap, the rooms should be clean and maintained better than they appear to be. Probably would book in again for location reasons, though I found the Travelodge cleaner for the same price.

Very clean and comfortable. Room was quite spacious and bathroom was well appointed with bath and shower. The staff were friendly and very helpful.. It was good to be able to leave the car and walk into Newcastle - only a short distance. A midweek winter break was excellent value for money

Stayed at this hotel when going to the Metro Arena. Clean and comfortable. The staff seem very friendly. Best of all it was quiet. I know we were there mid-week but I was worried it might be noisy. Within walking distance of the arena. Will go back next time we go to Newcastle.

Excellent location in city centre. I paid £29 for the night which is really good value. Very comfortable room and a very quiet hotel. I didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on food although at £8.25 it is a bit pricey especially as there are places close by where you can get breakfast for £4 or less. I had a drink in the bar & the staff were very friendly as were the reception staff. Check in was excellent. There is a council run car park next door but it's not easy to find. £1.30 an hour up to 6pm then free to 8am.

I've stayed here quite often with work. Best rooms are the top with a view of the city - looks great on an evening. Handy for the universities, close to the shopping etc. Meals (eve and b'fast) are nothing to get excited about, but my handy tip is go buy your breakfast from Northumbria Univ on Ellison Place (the Ellison Building) where you get a good fry-up and coffee for next to nothing!

Room Tip: Higher floors facing the city
