Have stayed in the past at a few Holiday Inn's in the Newcastle area and this is by far the best. The rooms are quite modern and nicely furnished, could be better but certainly better than the other hotels mentioned above. But by far, the best aspect to the hotel is the Italian restaurant situated within the hotel. Superb food and good service. There's also a nice bar within the hotel to relax and enjoy a drink. Breakfast was also very good. Free Car Parking is also available.

The staff were very friendly and rooms clean, we were on a budget so had the basic double which was roomy enough with all the facilities you would expect. The bathroom floor was freezing (Im not sure if there was a hidden switch ) the room was decorated in blacks silvers with a bit of pink and sparkle a strange theme but maybe this was in line with the Newcastle night life. That said the breakfast was plentiful and tasty in the adjoining restaurant.

I hav stayed in a coiple of Holidays Inns and Expreses recently and feel that standards are slipping somewhat. We just stayed at this one and the accommodation is adequate but just that.Are they lowering this closer to the Express offer. Staff friendy (perhaps a little reverence would be nice) but not well-trained and I could not class this as more than an average experience.

This was a pleasant surprise. I had just stayed at Holiday Inn Birmingham and was a little disillusioned with the chain but this hotel shows how much better it can be if you try. Free car park and friendly welcome. Public areas of hotel smart and clean, as was room which was stylish, very well furnished and equipped. Even free WiFi and mineral water. Small gym but had the equipment I needed. Did not eat in restaurant but well regarded. Breakfast the following day was excellent. Overall felt very well looked after and would be happy to return. Only downside was room was over hot during he night even with he heating off. Opening the window not a good solution as large a/c unit outside so sleep not as good as I would have liked- otherwise it would have been 5 stars !
