We walked past this hotel twice before we realised this was where we were staying, grotty entrance loads of stairs to climb, reception area very poor state. Two lifts one not working, smelly carpets, loose door handles. The place needs a complete refurbishment. At the car park entrance the outside canopy looks like its ready to fall down. Would hate to be staying here if there was a fire!

Our flight from Newcastle to Tenerife was delayed by 23 hours, so we were allocated the 'Quality' Hotel for an over night stay.

Myself and my partner stayed in room 205, right next to the lift shaft, the noise was horrendous, as was the noise from the main street outside. The hotel was full of groups of men and women who just ran riot up and down the corridors! The room had a strange smell, and the beds were awful, my partners bed, was a camp bed, with springs sticking out all over it. The carpet was full of stains also. The bathroom was covered in mildew, and there was hairs all over the floor.

The only good thing I could say about this hotel was the breakfast was very good.

Im so glad we were only here for 1 night, I never slept a wink. I certainly wouldnt like to think I was paying to stay here. As for the name Quality forget it.

Stayed here for 1 night - the hotel is very central, only a short walk from the train station and near to all the attractions and shopping.

The room was fine, no complaints there. We situated at the side of the hotel so the window overlooked the main street. The only down side is that in the middle of the night, there were a few drunken people outside singing loudly and the windows are so thin, it's not very easy to block out the noise. It wasn't a weekend night either, but I think as it's been said on other reviews, Newcastle is a popular hen/stag night city, so that must be why.

Breakfast was served on the top floor overlooking the city, and there was loads of choice as it was an all-you-can-eat type buffet. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

My wife and I have stayed in many hotels throughout the UK during the last 20 years or so and both agree that this is one of, if not the worst, hotel we have encountered. The place was filthy including the inside of the lift of which there was only one out of the three working but the call button was located next to the two not working about 20 feet away so on some occasions you would have to press the call to open the lift door and by the time it took to get back to the lift the doors had closed again! The room was to the same standard, only stayed the one night but were desperate to leave, breakfast average. Overall I would rather sleep in the car. Booked room on the internet a few months back and I think it was either £80 or £90!!!

The sole benefit of this place is it's centrality. The caters mainly for stag/hen-night types; at least that seemed to be the vast bulk of the clientele on the weekend we stayed. The staff seemed largely indifferent to the customers and the whole demure of the place suggested that they weren't in the business of ever trying for repeat custom.
For the price we were very surprised that breakfast wasn't included. First impressions of the place were not good, but largely accurate. We had to endure the noise of drunks running up and down the corridor for much of the small hours. By morning the corridors were choking with the smell of smoke.
If you are looking for somewhere to doss after a night on the beers then I'm sure you can find the same for far cheaper in Newcastle. Anyone else I suspect would have no interest in this place. The whole building seems very tired and neglected in appearance. Carpets were worn. The mattresses thin and knackered. The view from our window was of a derelict building.
It is quite clearly the worst value for money I have ever had, and as you might guess I won't be coming back...
