“Nice hotel, But out of the way.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Hotel was great and staff were very friendly and booked us cabs as soon as we asked. I was very happy with our overall stay, rooms and bathroom were clean and tidy. Only thing was that it is a bit out of the main part of town if you are wanting to go out at night. About a 20 min walk to the shopping centre and even further to the club areas. Good for people who want to be away from the hustle and bustle.

Hotel within walking distance of St James' Park, free car parking & wi fi. Nice sized room & bathroom with tea/coffee making, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Staff pleasant & helpful, Luigi Khan's restaurant excellent.
Breakfast - English (no bacon), scrabbled eggs & smoked salmon v good, fruit etc. Would stay again, but someone mentioned halal meat which is rather off putting, would have to check it out.

The location was perfect, just away from the main part of the city so easy to get to in the car and easy safe parking. The room was of a good size, great comfy bed. Good Wi-Fi strength and excellent shower. Place seemed very well cleaned a real nice place to stay. Also the restaurant on site is perfect for evening meal. See separate review. Service was excellent at breakfast. The Bacon is turkey rasher! One issue room 109 appears to be over the restaurant and hear doors banging up to 11:00 pm and starts at 07:00 when breakfast starts.

Room Tip: avoid room 109 if you wish to sleep before 11pm or after 7am, it is fine for me as I want to be up a...

Double room extremely clean, big comfy bed larger than king size, tv, tea/coffee, safe bathroom was large with shower and bath big clean bright white towels. Passageways maintained and clean. Staff very helpful, polite and courteous. There is an indian restaurant in the hotel but unfortunately we didnt get time to try it out. Breakfast was great with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc together with a selection of cooked foods, full english, eggs benedict, kippers, omelettes or they are happy to cook what ever you want eg. poached eggs on toast. Well done Ryokan owners and staff a great little place to stay just a 10 minute walk or a short bus drive into the centre of town.

Room Tip: Any room would be ok as its only got 2 floors

Just returned from a one night stay. The room was spacious and clean and the double bed was large and comfortable. We both enjoyed a quiet nights sleep.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner (fabulous curry) and breakfast (good quality food).
Overall an enjoyable stay within easy reach of the arena and city centre (about 20 minute walk to both).
