“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Everything about this restaurant is great, from the decor, to the service to the food. Had several lovely meals out here, and am never able to find fault.

“Birthday celebration!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday and it did not disappoint. The ambience is extremely pleasant and quite upmarket compared to some Italian restaurants we have visited. Although it was a Sunday evening the restaurant was busy with a buzzy atmosphere. The food was great and the staff very attentive and professional. The wine was superb, although not cheap - but you do get what you pay for. We shall definitely be returning to Adriano's when next in Gosforth. Thank you for a lovely evening.

“Great spot with nice food and "efficient" staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

First of all let's say that this place, right in the centre of Gosforth High Street, has a fantastic modern interior (with twinkly lights on internal & external trees). We booked for the special menu (around £11 for 2 course and £14 for 3) before 6pm on a Saturday evening.

Staff I thought were efficient if not quite friendly. The food was very food - a very nice field mushroom starter with spinach, parsley and garlic on crostini and very good calamari rings with garlic mayo. Followed by sea bass with veg and a rump steak (perfectly cooked) on a bed of salad. Served up with a very nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.

It is (probably) the best place to eat in Gosforth and can be good value early evening; if staff could add "friendly" to ""efficient" it would move up a notch.

“I have marked this very good only because of the food ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

otherwise I would have downgraded the rating. In summer there is a pleasant courtyard with tables and the interior is attractive.
The fish dishes are excellent but there was a huge problem with the dish of the day which led to us paying a fortune for something we had only ordered since it was the day's special at a much lower price.
Prepare to use your credit card! We usually pay by cash but obviously were not prepared for the high prices.

“A little pricey, but great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Adriano's is a few quid more than your average Italian, but worth the extra. The food is always excellent and the staff friendly. They have recently opened cafe facing out onto the High Street. It's well worth popping in here for a coffee or lunch, they often have dishes from the restaurant on sale. A little slice of Italy!
