“An excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

It's very difficult to find anything to fault about this hotel. We stayed here using up some IHG Priority Club points and so our stay was virtually free, so I guess I don't have a good feel for the value for money, but putting that aside......

The location is great - very central, and we had a top floor room overlooking the river so had a panoramic view of the Baltic, Sage and Newcastle bridges.

Staff were friendly, parking was easy, and the room was comfortable and stylish. We didn't use the kitchen area very much, but it seemed well equipped and everything was spotless.

Breakfast the next day was an above average help-yourself buffet, with plenty of choice.

The only down side to our visit was being woken at 3:30am by guests in neighbouring rooms returning from wherever they'd been partying that night and proceeding to run up and down the corridor outside our room, banging doors and shouting/laughing etc. This went on for about half an hour, and led to me being awake for over an hour. However this is really outside the control of the hotel so I don't count it against the hotel itself.

Would definitely return here in future.

Room Tip: As others have already written, try to get a top level room facing the river... otherwise you may en...

I stayed here for a Christmas get-away with my wife and 2 year old son and each of us enjoyed everything about the stay.

The first thing that hits you on arrival is how genuinely warm and friendly the staff are. They appear to take great pride in their work and they make you feel so very welcome and like nothing is too much trouble.

The room we stayed in was lovely and clean with a modern decor and we had a good view of the riverside (which is just a 3 minute walk from the hotel).

The breakfast was FANTASTIC in its quality, quantity and variety.

It's easy to refer to hotels like the Suites as "home from homes" but that in many ways is giving THIS hotel a disservice because unlike home, there is nothing to worry about and plenty of friendly people to make sure your stay remains that way.

Stayed here on a number of occasions and it has a homely feel about it, the car park is a bit of a rip off as the hotel isn't in the town centre but is still walkable to either The Quayside or in to town it's self. The rooms are really nice and comfortable beds make it a good choice and with the kitchen option It can make a Nice change if you don't want to venture out and with the free drinks and nibbles after work sometimes staying in is a nice option. Breakfast Is busy as you would expect but more than hits the mark so if you are looking for somewhere a bit different this is the palace and well worth a visit, I'll certainly be back.

Stayed here with my girlfriend on a Saturday evening. Lovely welcome from the reception staff. Cooked a meal in the kitchen, everything we needed was there. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. They told us about the weekly Sunday market on the Quayside. We also walked 5-10 minutes from the hotel to the Biscuit Factory, a large arts centre. Will definitely stay here in future.

One of the best apartment hotels I've ever stayed in.
Gym and laundry. Cosy den downstairs.
The kitchen and lounge room in the apartments have warm lamps and appointments. Plush towels.
2 flat screen tv's.
Just like home.

Stayed here with a few mates for a weekend. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great! It had a very relaxed atmosphere! We had a room on the 5th floor which had a great view! Will be back on my next trip!
